I heard the song "Beautiful" while watching Mysterious Ways on t.v. and bought WAITING as soon as I could find it. The song gave me goosebumps! I think every track on the disc is great. "Beautiful" and "Waiting" are my current favorites. I have listened to the CD over and over and I'm still not sick of it. I always tire of listening to the same music quickly, so this CD has been a great surprise. There is a nice variety so you won't get bogged down in syrupy gunk. Maren has a nice light style that contrasts with her powerful voice (it's amazing). I could go on, but I really think you should be buying the CD instead of reading about it.

I am a tough critic and thus somewhat limited and repetitive in what I listen to. It was on a hunch I bought the new CD by Maren Ord, and I have to say I am amazed. Amazing voice, amazing composition and when I play it on my office computer - everyone stops and asks who it is, and then they sound suprised as they never heard of her. They will. I am looking forward to her next CD - but do hope she does more up-tempo stuff as this is when she is at her best.

Maren Ord has what a lot of young artists now-a-days lack...real talent! Her voice is strong, and not flaky like the Pop-Princess's of today. Her song writing skills shows music is her life, and her life is music. My favorite is Beautiful, a song about looking for the best of things in life. Her lyrics are uplifting, and her voice just adds to the joy you get from listening to the cd. It's a breath of fresh air in this "pop" polluted world.

I found this CD by accident and thought I'd give it a try. I haven't stopped listening to it since the day I bought it. What an excellent display of musical and vocal talent. Not to mention the heartfelt songwriting that went in to each of the tracks. (I absolutely love the hidden track at the end of the CD) I can't believe more people haven't made the same discovery that I was lucky enough to fall upon. I called our local radio station to request one of the songs for my wife, and they had never heard of Maren Ord. Well, I will venture a guess that they will someday hear of her. And they'll be getting a lot more calls to request her songs.

Her voice is incredible. Her songs are very, very "listener friendly". I truly love this CD. I only wish she were on tour in this area. I'd definitely be there. And I'll definitely buy her next CD. And all of them after that.....

Never change who you are, Maren. You're an incredibly beautiful and talented young lady. Thank you for sharing your talent.

This is a wonderful addition to the recent crop of anti-Britneys (Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton) and in quality surpasses them all. Dare I compare her as favorably to Sarah McLachlan as I'm tempted to? Her music is brighter and more youthful but her breathy voice is as alternately enchanting and occasionally haunting as Sarah's. It's the rarest of musicians for whom I have the rooting interest that she'll produce more music. It's rare too to have a CD worth listening to straight through as often as I do with this one. Great voice, great songs, hopefully the first of many to come.

Songs Swallow, Just Like You, Speak and Waiting are particularly beautiful. Sarah and Harsh Words demonstrate radio ready pop sensibility.

I'm over-the-hill, musically speaking, but some of us get frisky and listen to new stuff now and then. Maren Ord sings like a dream, and her music has that same haunting "jingle jangle morning" quality to it that the great folk-rockers used so well. Think of Judy Collins or Carly Simon or even Bob Dylan when he first went electric. The songs are crafted and delivered with honesty and heart. I was surprised, very pleasently surprised. I'll buy her next CD for sure.

I heard the songs 'Perfect' and 'Sarah' and bought the album. I wasn't the least disappointed. Though more pop than I would have liked, this album is down right truthful and beautiful. Maren's song 'Harsh Words' is so truthful and her song 'Swallow', written for her boyfriend who was moving away is one of the best songs I've ever heard. A great album for a night alone. 'Relate To' is also one of my favourites. Buy this and enjoy every minute of it.

Ah, to write a review worthy of this CD. What a challenge! If your tired of contemporary young female artists. If you yearn for real talent. Deep, meaningful lyrics actually written by the artist. Then get ready for this! Maren Ord is what you seek. You may already know her music and didn't even know it; as several of her songs have been on popular television shows. But all this aside, this is what music is all about. A message. You might have a favorite artist who has a song or two you really like and identify with, but with this CD, if your human, you'll be able to identify with EVERY song. Make no mistake, Maren Ord's voice is powerful and stong and matches her lyrical talent step for step. And if that's not enough, her talent at the piano and guitar are unmatched. This is REAL music. There's something in "Waiting" for everyone. You want a love song? Got it. You want something inspirational? Got it. It's all right here. Just prepare yourself to get blown away. If it were possible to wear out a CD, this is the one you'd do it to.

This is quite simply one of the best CDs I will ever have the priviledge of listening to. Maren's voice is fantastic, actually that's an understatement, and she has a was of reaching right into your soul with her voice and lyrics. This is different to your average pop album, and i hope she never changes. Listen to the track 'speak', it has to be my favorite. I don't think i will ever get sick of listening to this album.

I was watching the TV show "Mysterious Ways" (on PAX of all networks) when I first heard Maren Ord. The song was "Beautiful," and I rushed to the show's website to find out more about the singer. The Chat Forum there was buzzing about the music, and fortunately someone identified the songwriter and singer as Maren Ord. It took awhile to get the CD, but I have seldom purchased a CD where I really liked every song. Nine out of eleven songs are a "9" or better. My favorite song is the title song, "Waiting." It is wonderful to get an album that you just cannot stop listening to! ... This is a landmark album from a huge performer....
