Dolour is quite possibly one of the best local (Seattle) bands out there, and an incredible band all together. Shane (the lead singer) is a great vocalist, and a really nice guy. The band is tight and plays not only well, but plays with an enjoyment and exuberance one rarely hears. The lyrics are catchy and amusing, and the songs are well put together. My personal favorites are "cleopatra Eyes" and "Rocker Chixxx dig us." Both great songs. I go see them frequently at local venues, and they play a great live set. Go see them if you have a chance.

This sounds like a first album. It's worth getting for the standout tracks, which remain some of the best the band's done over the course of three albums. "No Ordinary People" and "Baby U Rescued Me" are terrific (and are available free on dolour.com).

There are some truly bad songs on "World War", like "So So Sad" and "Sophie", and one song rhymes "place" with "place". Ouch. Still, definately worth buying all three of their albums.

I recently got into Dolour, thru Suburbiac and New Old Friends (which I bought from their website, dolour.com). I just picked up this one, which is their first. It sounds like a young band finding their sound, but there are a couple killer tracks that make it worth the $$. Hunt down their new album - New Old Friends if you want the real deal, though!

The first time I heard "Cleopatra Eyes," I fell in love with Dolour. In fact, I was in a car with four other people who'd never heard it either, and every single one of them shut up and listened. After it was over (in fact, while it was still playing), we all wanted to hear it again. And again. Unfortunately it was on a mix CD our friend had made, so that was all we knew of Dolour. I bought "Waiting for a World War" the next day and haven't stopped listening to it. The whole album is incredible, and even months later I still love it.
