This is a great song and it's realy sentimental because i's about Billie Joe's father. Some people say it's not a good subject to talk about but it's a pure show of respect for his father.

I love Wake Me Up When September Ends its beautiful. Its orginally about Billie Joe's dad who died when he was 10 or something but it seems to have references of war (as seen in the video which is also great!) and can relate to september 11 which makes it significant to pretty much everyone who cares in the world. the rock ballad starts off calmly with beautiful guitar riffs and thought provoking lyrics and reaches a rockier point in the middle of it with the introduction of heavier drum beats. the videos about a young man whos in love and has a great life but goes to war and loses everything. its so sad but beautiful. can't imagine anyone hating this song unless you're not into the slower melodic ones.

This song is sad because it's about Billie Joe's dad's death.It's a very beautiful song!I love it but I cry every time I hear it!

Crappy single about a personal loss. Idiotic video made to appeal to angsty pre-teens, while riding in the coattails of real anti-war punks.

If you are A-a real punk, B-Anti-war, or simply C-against crass commercialism, please STOP GIVING GREEN DAY YOUR MONEY.

If this man ever really cared about his father, he wouldn't release such sad sad (as in horrible) music. If he gave half a damn about his father, I doubt that he'd reach into America's pocketbook and sell his father's soul for money and fame. What a sad person this man is, I'd never do that to my father. Buy this single and prepare to die a fat nobody 20 minutes after visiting your local mall.
