YMI TALKING?, August 6, 2011
This is a great record that's Y. Wake Up! is the mighty Wake Up! title tune here. Wild pop perfection! Followed--in terms of crunchy goodness--by It's Lulu, Joel, and Find the Answer Within. Twinside has poppy-pop going as well. Lots of pretty stuff for everyone, including electronic effects. This record reached number 1 in the Brit-Pop days. Those days play around here with some frequency. Blur, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Stone Roses, some Lush, and the Boo Radleys! Great songs, great vocals, great motion--all-around great. Got trumpets too!

The 90's lost band, April 13, 2005
"Wake Up"marks the point at which Martin Carr let his tunes become accessible putting aside most of the band's shoegazing sonics(which nonetheless expand their sound considerably beyond any of their peers)and drenching the songs with some sunny Beach Boys/Big Star harmonies that made them more easily enjoyable.
And you can't mess with that opener the great "Wake up Boo!".

SOUND THE TRUMPETS & WAKE UP!, April 17, 2007
Wake Up! is The Boo Radleys Happiest :) album! Bubbly pop in these twelve solid tracks. It also contains their Biggest and most successful hit single, the Opener Wake Up Boo! A Summer-sun shinin' pop delight with catchy sing-along lyrics:
"Wake Up - it's a Beautiful Morning
Feel the Sun shining right before your eyes,
Wake up it's so Beautiful
For what could be the very last time."
The next song on Wake Up! is "Fairfax Scene" - a much slower comedown after the vibrant opener and a soft bridge between songs 1 & 3, because next is another fast paced song - "It's Lulu" featuring Loud Trumpets, hand claps and heavy drum pounding!
My favorite song on this is "Reaching Out From Here" :
"And it looks like another rainy day
Sitting here lonely by my window
Waiting for you to come on home..."
Simple lyrics, but Fun and to the point.
Wake Up! - Although not my favorite by The Boo Radleys, it is their most up-beat and fun. It's also a Great way to start your Morning off right!
