Judy Martin has counseled children and families for nearly thirty years. She holds masters degrees in both school counseling and marriage family therapy and has been honored in Pennsylvania and California for her outstanding academic performance and community service.
Of all the experience she has garnered, she has been most profoundly influenced by the white water rapids course of life she rode with her teenaged daughter. Referring to her "wake up call" author Martin says, "Ultimately, all I could do was grieve my powerlessness and unfulfilled dreams. But I have no regrets. Those very experiences made me who I am today. And along the way, I've been discovering what it means to respect my daughter.
During her free time Judy hikes and kayaks San Francisco's trails and waterways. Watch for her next book, "They're So Different" a collection of essays written by mothers about their children's divergent natures.
