We received Don't Wake the Baby when my daughter was 2 and we immediately bought Wake Up Sleeping Beauty as well. My daughter still loves these books -- she is now 5 -- and my now 2 year old daughter asks to read them over and over again. The books are so charming, that my husband and I don't mind! This is a book with tabs on each page which causes the characters to move and accompanying sounds to occur. The storylines are funny, the movements are imaginative, and the sounds are terrific. The only problem is that it's easy for little fingers to tear the tabs and pages with their enthusiasm or, in our case, sheer repetition, even though the pages are heavy stock.

I have a nursery school with children ages 18 months to 5 years. "Wake Up Sleeping Beauty" catches the attention of all of them and they listen motionless as each teacher tells her version of the story.

I purchased the first copy of this book in a "Welfare" type shop for $3.00 because it looked "quirky" and I loved it immediately. My little 3 year old grandchild did too. It had no sound and the moveable characters were in a sad state of repair-limbs missing even. I determined to get a new copy and straight away looked on Amazon. The "as new" copies were in excess of $100.00!!!!So I looked for the next best thing which was one that still had sound and everything worked. I chose one that said from memory some minor damage such as the spine and bending of the charcters. It did not say there was no sound wheras other copies of the same book said there was no sound. I think it cost around $27.00 with postage. All the moveable limbs were there but parts of the book had tears and so did the limbs. There was no sound and replacement batteries didn't appear to work. So I was sad for a few days then I fixed up what I could, dazzled my Grandaughter with my own theatrical sounds, and moved on. No use crying over spilt milk!!!
