Good Comp With Some Pretty Rare Stuff,
By
This review is from: Wake Up Suckers (Audio CD)
This is actually a pretty good sampler of Iggy & or Stooges covering almost 20 years. The 3 live in London tracks sound like they're from the "Zombie Birdhouse" era, & I still haven't been able to find these tracks or the whole show anywhere else officially or otherwise (& this came out in 95).
The San Diego tracks might be hard to find. The only other place I've ever found them was on a bootleg on the Swingin' Pig label called "Nightclubbing". All the other tracks you can find on "Nuggets" & "Metallic KO". This is one of my favorite Iggy cds so I give it 5 stars, but like I said, 5 of the songs you might not be able to find anywhere else. Oh yeah, the 3 London songs are pretty bad sound quality, but might interest you because the two "Zombie" songs are played more hard rock than on the album. Also, at one point one of the polite englishmen in the crowd orders Iggy to get his Willie out! Enjoy! p.s.:I know the two cd edition of "Nuggets" has all these songs + more studio outtakes from the eighties (like a decent cover of Sly Stone's "Family Affair"). I'm still partial to "Wake Up Suckers" as an overview of his career & cuz it came first & I'm used to it.
