5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the year March 20, 2012
By ifusion
Format:MP3 Music
album of the year - secular and christian. pure musical genius. incredible the melody motif is carried throughout and lyrical master minding laced on top makes this unstoppable. The outtros and beat change-ups keep every song fresh... just when you think you know what's coming, better hits you. Pure. Holy Spirit influence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch this guy! Dont Sleep! What CHH needs! April 1, 2012
By M. Sen
Format:MP3 Music
I bought this album this morning, after listening to the samples last night. I never buy albums that quick, or by artists i dont really know but I thought it must be good because its got sho baraka and eshon burgandy on it, also the style really appealed to me. To be honest there is alot of quality gospel rap out there but i personally dont think all rap/hiphop fans are entirely catered for. This album really does fill a hole for lovers of a certain sound (yes a guess its a kanye/jay sort of sound), and I hope peeps catch on to Swoope. He isnt a copy cat - he just makes good music. Dont Sleep!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing August 28, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Honestly, so far, this is my favourite album of 2012.

From the antiquated piano melody in the intro to the bass-pounding hits, boom-bap flows, OUTSTANDING preludes/interludes - I thoroughly enjoyed them all.

Lyrics are also clever ('DiCaprio hollerin' at Juno' line had me hooked as soon as I popped the CD into my car). It felt like a concept-album. It challenges the listener on conflicting views/ideologies about what is real life and where is the satisfaction coming from - is it an illusion (dream-state) or tangible and faith-based. It spans beyond just a Christian Hip Hop feel and makes a broad invitation to believers and non-believers alike. The album was also fairly introspective at times.

It starts off w/ a bang and mellows out toward the end. Tracks 1-

1. Ideality Prelude - 5/5 I love the Piano

2. Ideality - 5/5 Bass-pounding. Great segway into the album

3. Fantasy - 5/5 Great lyrics, catchy hook, background vocals were also fitting

4. Schizo/ Hollow dreams interlude - 5/5 Swoope and Tedashii made a great duo on this song

5. Blind Eyes [The Good American] - 5/5 Great beat; heavy bass. A fresh perspective on the Good Samaritan story

6. Mirage - 5/5 Great flow. Shows his versatility. I wasn't sure if Swoope would've ridden the track completely at one point but he held on!

7. Dreamslave/ Murder Me prelude - 5/5 Great song, great beat, great lyrics. Featured artist ha(s) me confused on a line to this day though.

8. Murder Me/ Eulogy interlude - 5/5 LOVE this song. Introspective. Great lyrics. GREAT guitar solo at the interlude

9. Faith Walk - 4/5 Good song. Good hook. Not sure if it fits that well.

10. Time/ Lullaby Prelude - 4/5 POV song. Clever.

Wake up homie! It's crazy that this is still one of the most underrated albums to EVER come by a hip hop artist, and that's something to be said b/c I know that there are plenty others out there also. Awesome album.
