The Wakefield Legacy : The Untold Story,
By
This review is from: The Wakefield Legacy (Sweet Valley High) (Paperback)
This book was mediocre. It wasn't as great as its counterpart, which chronicled the adventures of Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield's maternal lineage. This story, which tells about Jessica and Elizabeth's paternal lineage, begins with Theodore Wakefield, the twins' great-great-great-grandfather who rescues Alice Larson (the twins' great-great-great-grandmother) from drowning. Throughout the book, I find it uncanny and unrealistic how the members of the twins' paternal lineage constantly have romantic clashes with the members of the twins' maternal lineage. However, members of neither family marry one another until the generation of Ned Wakefield and Alice Robertson, the twins' parents. Also, the book is too dramatic at some intervals, and too romantic at some. But some parts of this book are believable and compelling. Francine Pascal used strong historical backgrounds when she wrote this story, which is one of its better qualities. It makes a good airplane read, but nothing more serious or interesting.

An exciting rollercoaster of a Saga.,

This review is from: The Wakefield Legacy (Sweet Valley High) (Paperback)
This Saga begins on the haunting moors of Wakefield, England. Theodore is promised to wed and inherit the estate of his father. Refusing this life he does not want he sets out for the bright promise of America, leaving his family behind forever. On the boat heading for New York he is struck by cupid when he saves a heroic young woman from the sea and falls instantly in love. Can things end happily for Theodore or is more struggles ahead for him in the new land of America? This saga involve's Ned Wakefield's side of the family and is just as good as the first saga. This saga has it all-courage,daring and a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Alot of things don't end Happily Ever After and this book in my opionion is more mature and an intense read then the Sweet Valley Series where everything often has sunny, cheery endings. Given that I read this book about 8(?) years ago and still remember it after reading thousands of books since then says alot.

Another wonderful saga!,

The first Sweet Valley Saga focused on Elizabeth and Jessica's maternal ancestors, descended from Alice Larson (who could have ended up with Wakefield if not for a cruel twist of fate), but this one focuses on the twin's father's ancestors. here, we see the first Wakefield and his encounter with Alice Larson, and what happens after he and Alice are parted from one another.
His story is distinctly different from Alice and the other sagas, so this book remains interesting and isn't a mere rehash of previous volumes. I have to admit, I rather liked the Saga series more than most of the other Sweet Valley books I ever read.

I am a life long fan of the works of Francine Pascal. Her stories are wonderfully written, quirky, and totally relatable to real life. With the Sweet Valley Sagas come a different kind of writing that you don't come around very often. The sagas tell the stories of betrayal, lost love, and dreams coming true and also undone. It's a wonderful series and one of which I own every book. If you are a lover of any of the Sweet Valley books then these are a must read. They tell the stories of the people the came before Lila, Bruce, Jessica, and Elizabeth. I have read them all over again and again because of how the books just lure you in with the wonderful stories:)

wow...if you loved Sweet Valley then, you'll love it even more after reading this captivating novel. Everything in this story was just so emotional..from Theo's quest for his true love, to Sarah's brave struggle to marry her soulmate..only to end in tragedy, and all the way up to Ned's heroic rescue of Alice..the familiar blonde-haired blue-green eyed girl. I couldn't believe how much Jessica and Elizabeth's paternal and maternal ancestors had intertwined. A must-have for all Sweet Valley Fanatics!

Great but Repetitive,

This review is from: The Wakefield Legacy (Sweet Valley High) (Paperback)
This book was wonderfully, completely romantic but I came to find that each story for each family member was the same- They escaped from something, had their heart broken, finally found someone else and...well I'd hate to give it away. Even though it is predictable, it is still an exciting page-turner that I recomend reading! This is a very interesting book that I could not put down, the ending is also very clever and surprising.
