5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Simplification of "The Way of the Human"
I have read all books of Dr. Wolinsky, "Waking from the Trance" is not an exeption of the seriousness of his writing. This is a book for anyone seeking a meaningful path in life without distortions and sweet tells, a guide for personal transformation that can literally change your life.

I don't know how many times I can listen to this guy ask "If you don't use your thoughts, memories, emotions, associations, or perceptions, how do you experience X". I don't know what this question is supposed to do for you or why he thinks that asking it over and over for different experiences does anything for anyone.

The purpose of this work is to summarize the development of multy-dimensional awarenes which can help you discover Who You Are. Dr. Wolisky is one of the few lucky people to encounter Nisargadatta Maharaj on his way to selfrealization, and this is the fruit of his pure teaching

5.0 out of 5 stars A Different View of Enlightenment, November 7, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Waking from the Trance: A Practical Course on Developing Multidimensional Awareness (Audio Cassette)
Anyone on the path of enlightenment should add this course to their studies. It can be daunting at first to understand where Stephen is going with this technique. But as the listener continues on this tutorial, the stories he shares can be enjoyed while gathering information during his discourse for use in the normal meditation disciplines.

There is indeed, however "something to be gained" from being spiritual. It can change an individual's entire reality, affecting healing and lending great serenity. What Mr. Wolinsky is trying to help accomplish here, is to remove barriers and fears associated with previous religious teachings that may be hindering the learner's progress. To go deeper than just one or two causes or directions, but to have the ability to reach multiple levels of awareness. This will (according to Quantum Psychology) allow us to consciously evolve. There's no telling what abilities we can gain if we *can* reach that level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent set of tapes to get you to awareness, May 23, 2004

I have listened to the set of tapes several times.

I find Dr. Wolinsky easy to understand and find his method of going through the different dimensions (external, mind/thoughts, body, feelings/emotions) to be a uncomplicated way of understanding the different levels and getting to the I; the not I, I; the essence and the void.

I recommend it highly for those interested in pursuit of the self, essence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wolinsky at his best, October 26, 2006
This review is from: Waking from the Trance: A Practical Course on Developing Multidimensional Awareness (Audio Cassette)
This course combines the majority of Stephen Wolinsky's meditations and systems of understanding alongside some interesting background information on him personally. It is very well presented and thoroughly does justice to the brevity and directness of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj's teachings. For me personally, it had moments of power that could rival the discourse in "I Am That."

Those who don't want anything "extra" and are only interested in helping along the process of destroying well-hidden concepts and illusions of identity will find it deeply refreshing in its clarity. If you want something comforting and charming, you might want to look elsewhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars All the great teachings meet right here!, September 26, 2009
This review is from: Waking from the Trance: A Practical Course on Developing Multidimensional Awareness (Audio Cassette)
Fantastic! Finally someone points to the multiple levels of awareness that reside "in" Consciousness and beyond. If you have ever met someone (or yourself) stuck in a level of awareness, say the "Oneness" level, or the "Psychological" level, or the "Labelling Level", or the Quantum Physics Level, you know they are only pointing to one level of TRUTH. This Series is the most amazing presentation of all that is of the ONE SUBSTANCE, without exclusion of anything - exclusion which would make no sense if everything is one, but is so often seen in Advaita circles (Some exceptions being Adyashanti, Nirmala and Gangaji). This ALL-inclusive awareness is blowing all of the other teachings out of the water - or you could say bringing them all together in a way that makes clear sense.

Only Wolinksy seems to effectively take you "Back to where you came from" as Nisargadatta teaches (but is cagey on specifics about) But he doesn't stop there! He includes the return trip that embraces all, without the denial of that which is "appearing" as two -Full Multi-dimensional awareness. From the Enneagram, to Quantum Physics, to Traditional Psychology, from the Ego to Advaita Vedanta and the Nisargadatta teachings and Self-Inquiry, Wolinksy pulls it all together here without a lot of nonsense. The only thing in addition that I would recommend is The Work of Byron Katie (Loving What Is), for deep self inquiry, and the teachings of Gina Lake (Radical Happiness) on Essence (discussed by Wolinsky) and perhaps the Sedona Method for getting to the bottom of things with surgical precision and not a lot of flower language and lofty BS.

I was so impressed I am now reading the three volume Quantum Psychology Notebooks of Wolinksy's Way of the Human. And am planning on attending his 12 day next year - and I will not spend another dime on another teacher. It is not necessary. This work can finally awaken the inner teacher. And then teachers become irrelevant. And maybe just fun to hang out with - friends!

BRAVO STEPHEN! You are, IMHO, one of the greats. Your teaching style is marvelous, your understanding and clarity is obvious, and your exercises are POWERFUL!

Run don't walk to buy this one, if you REALLY want your freedom!

5.0 out of 5 stars great for spiritual seekers, February 23, 2011
This review is from: Waking from the Trance: A Practical Course on Developing Multidimensional Awareness (Audio Cassette)
This is the ultimate CD for spiritual seekers. If you listen carefully, Wolinksy will remove the spiritual seeker inside you. Then, you can be free to be truly enlightened. He will remove the structures and systems that we develop for ourselves, which are intended to be survival mechanisms, but are actually blockages for true enlightenment.

Get it!
