I've had this basket a few years now. It's great. Simple on & off, great to take into stores and shop with, fits everything I need (including a little cooler for the pubcrawl rides). However the support that goes around the upright stem tends to strip the paint off the bike.

I'm ok with it, but if you're not, you should go for a different basket, perhaps one that attaches with screws to the handlebars & front wheel. It's something that I would have liked to been aware of when I bought it.

I was quite upset to find that the mounting hardware did not fit my bike's handlebars. Other comments suggested that there was no way to bend or adjust it, but there is. Use a hammer (the end that you use to pull out nails), and it will allow you to adjust. My other recommendation is to secure the mounting piece with zip ties to your handlebars even if it fits perfectly. I only remove the basket, so it presents no problem to have the hardware part semi-permanently attached---this keeps the basket secure and stable so it rubs off less paint.

I purchased this in both white and black, but they were not exact fits as per other reviewers for both my bike and my daughter's bike! It was a great price, but to be sure it fit, I had to move the reflectors and they did not fit on a mountain bike handles and had to use an extra ties to insure it would not pop off. I chose this model because I feared that the other ones with rods attached to the wheel would not be long enough and did not want to risk it. This would be perfect on a cruiser bike handle. However, I do like the fact that you can pop it out and take with you shopping. Overall, if it were a better fit, I would have given it 5 stars, but now 3. I will not return for it is bothersome, but next time I will try it at the local bike shop before purchasing.

happy to have it. it did scratch my handlebars and stem even with the little rubber wrap around piece. it doesn't fit securely so it wobbles and moves when i hit bumps.
