5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Training Wheels Available!!
My son is not very well balanced yet and we needed training wheels that would not bend or allow him to easily tip over. We went through three different brands before we found these and they are excellent, very strong and durable. You can count on these training wheels not to bend even under full body weight.

Sold a new bike to middle-aged woman who had brain surgery and now had balance problem. She was determined to ride a bike with her husband and we found the only set of wheels that would fit a 26" bike. Made her very happy and is helping her confidence. While this lady was just under the weight limit for this item I had to adjust it a few times as it was straining under the weight when she was leaning to one side or the other. Either the weight limit is slightly exaggerated or it should max at 24".
This product served the purpose in this case and owners understand the limitations but were happy with the product as it accomplished what she wanted and didn't have to resort to a trike.

Just the product I needed to help my wife become a "biker". She had never learned how to ride a bike as a kid. These "Wheels" put her on the trail in no time. Thanks for helping a dream come true.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works, but hard fit., May 12, 2008

These training wheels work great. I am using them for my 60 pound special needs son who just upgraded to a 20 inch bike. Here's the problem...I misread the item description. These training wheels will not fit a bike chainstay unless it is smaller than 1 inch. My son's bike was 1 inch exactly. Honestly, I don't know where a child's bike exists that has a chainstay less than 1 inch.

We were able to modify the training wheels by bending the lower prong outwards (making it useless). Doing this enabled us to fit the piece on the chainstay and kept the upper prong functional. To make sure the piece stayed secure to the bike we used tie straps. Worked like a charm!

My nine-year-old son finally decided he was ready to learn to ride a bike. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find training wheels locally to fit a 24-inch bike. A bike shop told me it would cost $100 for training wheels to fit a 24-inch bike. When I got home, I hopped on Amazon and found these in no time. These do the trick, and he is happily riding around with no problems. Bought a second set for a 20-inch bike for my six-year-old. Very pleased.

I went through 3 other sets of training wheels for my special needs son's 20 inch bike before finding these. My son weighs 85 pounds, plus a heavy bike, and previous sets folded under the weight. I was nervous trying these training wheels out, expecting to be disappointed, but they are every bit as strong and sturdy as they claim. My son is so happy to be able to ride his bike, and that makes me VERY happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, April 17, 2011

Bought this training wheels for a six years old who decided she wanted a 20" bike. Needless to say, I was having issues finding training wheels that would fit her bike. Maybe the frame was too high, so I looked for training wheels over 20". After much research, and many hours in the computer, I finally came across this item. Thought to give it a try. The braces didn't quite fit the frame, but after much pounding with the hammer( and it wasn't easy at all!), I finally got them to work.
She's been riding the bike for over 4 months now, and she's not gentle with it, but the wheels have stayed put, and worked better than I thought. I highly recomment it for anyone looking for a sturdy set of training wheels.
The box does say "for a 3/4" or smaller rear frame," so I suggest measuring the frame of the bike before you purchase, or get ready to pound it into submission like I did.

Our past training wheels always bent and broke after a few rides. Not these! They are sturdy and strong. My wife is so happy because now she can go on walks and my son can ride along beside her!
This product works as advertised.

My wife fell twice on her new bike and she was afraid to try any more. She thought training wheels might help. I didn't find any that would fit, until I saw Wald for 16-26" bikes. She is gaining confidence now.
