About the Author
Thomas D. Cherubini is a retired New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center doctor, who, a year before he retired from medical practice, discovered that he had early type II (adult onset) diabetes. In his efforts to fight the disease and return to health he made some surprising discoveries which provided the basis for a remarkable improvement of his condition. He knew from his medical practice that most diabetics do not die from their disease. They die instead, from its complications, the most prevalent of which is heart disease, the commonest killer in America. Out of his research and this knowledge, he developed simple but surprisingly effective dietary and life-style changes that help prevent diabetic complications. Interestingly, these same methods can help control and reduce body weight, so this book is just as useful (and important!) for weight-conscious people as for type II diabetics.
