Good, thought-provoking reads,

Charnas crafts a dystopia based on vilest trait of our culture: intolerance, notably racism and mysogyny.Of the two, I much preferred _Motherlines_, simply because the characters and the culture of the free women are so much more compelling and interesting than those of the men in the first book. These are not books for light reading, nor are the books likely to be popular with men; too bad. But if you're the type who gets uncomfortable with feminist content, you are not going to enjoy these books. But I sure did; both are damn good books. |
