This review is from: Walk a Fine Line (Audio CD)
This was Paul Anka's comeback album (of sorts) during the eighties. Recorded in L.A. it features such guests as Michael McDonald on two tracks (including "Second Chance"), Kenny Loggins (on "Darlin', Darlin'") and Peter Cetera (on the top 40 hit "Hold Me Til The Mornin' Comes). Anka is backed up by some of the biggest names in westcoast pop: David Foster, Jay Graydon, some of the Toto members, Nathan East, Mike Baird, Vinnie Colaiuta and others. This album was the one that the title song from Michael Jackson's "This is It" was originally written for but got shelved (perhaps it was too soulful to include here...) Still a good listen. Anka also did a similar album called "Somebody Loves You" with some of the same session players here and includes Dionne Warwick and Mike McDonald on backing (or harmony vocals) but it possibilty it was released in Europe on LP only in 1989.
