Walk with a Wolf,
By
This review is from: Walk with a Wolf: Read and Wonder (Paperback)
Walk with a Wolf is a part of the Candlewick Press series Read and Wonder. I love this series of books for my daughters. It is an excellent source of nonfiction for young children. This title is full of soft watercolor illustrations that depict the life of a wolf pack. The book includes a scene where a pack of wolves hunts a moose, but the scene is handled well and is not scary for my four-year-old. I highly recommend this title and any other in the series.

My daughter loves this book. She is really into wolves right now and this caught her eye. The illustrations are true works of art and the detail in them is interesting. The story is informational, yet simple. It's an all around good book.

No talking animals here. And real predation is described as well as hunger and cold, but the author does it in a way that should not upset a young child and is much more truthful than most depictions of animals. This is one of my favorite books to read at bedtime!
