Priceless companion to violists...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Walk on the north side: Memoirs of a violist (Hardcover)
I found this an incredible read! Primrose speaks candidly, personally and openly about his associations with his colleagues, about his wonderful life experiences and includes many hilarious anecdotes (and pictures!) of his and his workmates antics, especially in the LSQ.Having finishing the book, I now feel as if I know the great man himself, as if I were a pupil of his who was subjected to his reminiscences. This book is perfect for reference, as Primrose himself commissioned many works for viola, and he writes extensively about the circumstances involved around getting these (particularly an interesting one surrounding the Dvorak!). Highly, highly recommended! |
