5.0 out of 5 stars unbelievable
Try to find a corded phone is difficult these days. I actually found the Plantronics / Walker W1000 phone at WalMart in Rice Lake, WI (715-234-6990) for $34.88. Brought it home, plugged it in and tried it out. Seems to work great. This version of the product is documented as offering up to 26dB amplification. Elsewhere on amazon i found the W1000 with 33dB amplification,...

2.0 out of 5 stars A little bit louder now
I purchased the Clarity w1000 to overcome the noise from a room air conditioner. It usually worked adequately for this task. However, sometimes or perhaps often a little more volume would have been useful. On my phone line, increased volume quickly turns into quite a bit of noise and hiss. This is more annoying than straining to hear the caller. My Panasonic KX-TG...

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent, Easy-to-use Telephone, December 1, 2010

I got this phone for my mother, and we're both very pleased. My mother will walk through the house to use this telephone because the sound is so much clearer than any other phone in the place. And I love the fact that it's a simple, easy-to-use phone that plugs into the wall and doesn't require batteries. The cordless phones are always getting misplaced in her house, or they need charging, or their batteries need replacement. This phone stays put in one location, and it doesn't need charging, and it works all of the time, and it's easy to use, and the sound is great.

My mom's hearing impaired and received this product free from the Florida phone company years and years ago, due to her impairment. Although we tried newer phones that had volume controls in other rooms, this is the only one that works for her. Now she has one in the kitchen and one in the TV room. It's not cordless, but it's not necessary that it has that function for her.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that great, July 6, 2011

I work from home and bought this phone based on reviews I had seen in the past saying it was great for making sure you can be heard and understood. This phone is almost as bad as the one I got rid of when I purchased this one. I have tons of issues with and echo when using the handset. I can not find a head set that works with this phone as it has a 3.5mm jack instead of the more common 2.5mm jack. I thought I was getting a great phone that would make all this worth the trouble, but the sound is not any better then a $5 drugstore special. I am very disapointed in the quality.

I have tried several phones and devices to compensate for high frequency hearing loss. Some buzz, some generate more noise than sound, and some do nothing. This unit changes the quality of the sound, but after you adjust to it, it is more understandable than anything else I've tried.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phone good quality, March 18, 2011

This phone is of good overall quality. The sound boost works well, the ringer is loud and adjustable, and it even flashes when it rings. I use it with the Magic Jack service, and you cannot tell the difference from traditional phone service. The memory quick dial is easy to program. Would highly recommend this product.

The phone is fine. As you can see by the picture there are no cords displayed SO I purchased them for extra money. Also per the picture , I thought the phone was white... it is beige. So OK on the phone Terrible on the picture.

My mother has 2 hearing aids and she depends on this phone for communication. She is very happy with it. I have also recommended it to a friend and her aunt is thrilled with the sound quality as well. This phone is not as fancy as some other ones, but for an elderly person, simplicity is often best. We are very happy with this phone.

I bought this phone as a gift for my parents who are getting older and need the larger keys to see, but dont want all the other functions like an answering machine. It stopped working within a couple of days and i had to return it. Cheaply made product.
