Chair seats don't have holes drilled in them,

As I was assembling the chairs, I got to the step that said to screw the seats into the rest of the frame, except there are no holes drilled in the chair seats! I called the company, and they said I am just supposed to "apply pressure and they will go in." What? These are solid wood chairs! I have to go buy a drill now.
