Very happy with this bed!,

I bought this bed for my daughter who is a little over 6. She shares a room with her brother and the 2 twin beds made the already tiny room ridicules to navigate so being able to shove one bed under another seemed like the perfect solution. I wanted the loft bed so that when they no longer want to share a room(they are sharing because they want to) I can take out his bed and my daughter will have a place for a desk or whatever underneath. The bed came in the manufacturers box. The box came a little damaged but all the contents were fine. Beware if you don't have help to carry the box... it was a very long box and weighed 84 lbs according to the shipping label. It took both my husband and I to maneuver it upstairs mainly because it was so long. My daughter and I (30 year old woman) put the bed together by ourselves. It took an hour and a half or so. It was very easy and the directions made complete sense. I would recommend 2 people to put it together because of the really long pieces. My daughter was the pieces holder so I could screw things together. Most of it can be assembled flat on the floor. They provide 2 allen wrenches which are the only tools needed for assembly. The small parts were very well packaged and it came with enough pieces. The bed itself is very sturdy. It does wiggle a bit but not too much. I'm sure the wiggle is mostly because the bed is on "stilts". It in no way seems dangerous. It did come with 2 parts that were not explained but they seem to be pieces to bolt the bed to the wall. If I thought that was necessary I would have called the company to ask about them but it does not. The finish is excellent. Not too easy to scratch but I did manage to do some surface scratches while putting it together. The bed comes with 22 tubular metal slats for the mattress to sit on, very sturdy! Pay attention to the mattress thickness limit (I think it is 9"). Our mattress is 10". The thicker the mattress, the shorter the guardrail that keeps your child from falling out! That said, there is still 5" of rail above her mattress I feel comfortable with that. From the floor to the bottom of the mattress platform is 55.5" so add on the thickness of your mattress and that is about how high off the floor your child will be. In my opinion, it is almost too high but I'm getting used to it. The only bad thing I have to say about the bed is that the ladder is very tough on feet! The rungs are too narrow and they are round. In one of the reviews for the same bed with a different configuration someone suggested using water pipe insulation to pad the rung. They cut the insulation to fit and wrapped it with duct tape to hold it on. EXCELLENT idea. I put double stick tape on the rungs, covered the insulation with some hot pink pleather fabric (to make it cuter) then just slipped it over. Perfect. (if you want more advice check out other reviews for the same bed but a different configuration because mine is the first review for this loft bed)

I really like the space this created in my room, and now it looks pretty put together and cozy. :)The only complaint is if your a tall guy, your feet may touch the end of the railing (I'm like 5'11 and 6). Granted, it's fine if you sleep on your side - or spread your legs apart. A sliding component would've been nice so it's easier to climb into and out of bed, but you get use to it. I like it.

Not Wonderful But Pretty Good,

Okay this isn't perfect but what do you expect for $200? Sure $700 will get you something easier to get into but this is pretty sturdy and works. The worst part about putting this together was the clips for the rods that go under the mattress. They are WAY too difficult to put in (and annoying). That alone knocks off a star. Otherwise it's decent. The stairs hurt my feet a little but it's fine for kids; a more square/less rounded rung system would be nice for little more cost. It's quite tall and a pretty good buy. The design looks better than it functions but again kids are tolerant and this will hold up to 300lbs which is one of the better design points.

This is a great bed for the price. The kids love it. The ladder rungs are a bit small & painful to climb up for adult feet, but no issues for the kids, which are the ones that need to climb in.

This was purchased from my college daughter so save space when sharing her bedroom with another girl (who also purchased the same bed). It is high enough to allow her to put a desk under it and it really makes a big difference in their space utilization. The only negative is that it is somewhat 'rickety' that took several days to get used to but is now no longer a problem. If you are looking to save space, this is a great buy.

Well, the ladder is terrible--the small diameter of the rungs cut into one's feet. So I bought a little stepladder to use instead, wrapping a towel around the top rung. And it tends to sway when moving around--although it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But the price was certainly right, and I'd certainly rather have it than none at all.

I'm sure this bed is an amazing product as the other reviewers have noted but I never got the chance to experience this first hand. What I did get to experience was Visiondecor's (the company who sells the bed) amazing customer service. Unfortunately I had to suddenly move out of my apartment so I had to cancel the order and obtain a refund directly through the company instead of Amazon since it is not sold directly by Amazon. I thought this was sure to be a hassle and/or a possibility that the company would not give me a refund in a timely manner. Instead I was pleasantly surprised when Visiondecor returned my phone call the very next day after I left them a voicemail and told me that it would be no problem to return the product and receive my full refund. I would definitely purchase from this company again in the future.

We purchased this bed for our 9 year old son. We have small bedrooms and needed to consolidate. It is wobbly if you don't anchor it to the wall. My husband tested the ladder before it was anchored and the whole bed began to tip over since it is a light weight frame. With the mattress and anchor, its a pretty solid bed. We had to remove our ceiling fan to accommodate the height of the bed - with that said, there is a lot of desk space below. A clip on fan works great at the end of the bed for those summer months! The ladder is a little challenging because it is straight up rather than leaning on the bed. The ladder rungs are pretty rough on your feet so we purchased pipe insulation and wrapped that around each rung, which worked perfectly. Overall, its great for the price.

Great value, some assembly required,

I've been using this loft bed for over 2 months now and I am pretty happy with it. Good stability, decent quality and finish and simply does what I bought if for: Giving me a place to sleep while freeing up the space underneath to put my computer and art table. I am a pretty small adult (120lbs)and my bedroom is tiny, so this works great. The assembly was a bit odd, as certain parts were mis-labeled and the drawings were somewhat incorrect in detailed areas. But being the nerd that I am, I read the instruction manual first and modified it to my needs. There were plenty of spare parts and I put it together in under 3 hour (by myself). The plastic sealing tabs holding the bed base bars were a bit stiff, so I bent them a bit using a locking wrench, and they went in easier (saved my thumbs). Also there were a few holes that were outside their tolerance level, so I had to bend the bars a bit to get the screws in place. But not bad, if you have a wall to lean against and some good old fashioned elbow grease.Overall, I like this bed. It's a great value for the money, and with a little head work and a friend to help you, assembly should be a snap.

This bed is awesome! It was pretty easy to put together. It helps if you have one person getting the parts and another actually putting it together. It is very sturdy and makes a ton of space in my son's room. Since everything is metal, you will probably have to check the bolts periodically to make sure they stay tight. I am very satisfied with this bed. I'm not sure if it's worth $300.00, though. I got it when it was $199. Maybe check back and see if the price goes down later? I bought this bed for my son, who's 4, and was growing out of his toddler bed. He has a little bit of a hard time getting into the bed since there isnt an opening by the ladder. But he doesn't seem to mind. Overall, great product!
