We bought this for our 10 month old son about a month ago and he absolutely loves it. Some people, for example the author of the famous "Baby Bargains" book, advises against getting these because they are too dangerous (i.e. your kid might walk right down a flight of stairs or something and get seriously injured). This is definitely true, and if you live in a house or place with lots of easily accesible stairs that you can't cover then this toy is probably not for you. In our case, however, we live in a 2 bedroom apartment and don't have any stairs or anything he could walk off of and get hurt so it is okay. Anyway, there is just something magical for a baby about all of a sudden being able to move freely about. Until we got this toy our son could crawl a bit but was mostly stuck in one place. This toy has opened up a whole new exciting world to him! And we were considering between this one and another walker that was double the price but had a lot more attached toys --- in my opinion save your money, skip the toys, and get this one. I don't even know if our son knows that there are toys on this thing, that is so beside the point to him --- the ability to walk around is where it is all at for him (and other babies I would guess). Be prepared to have all of your accesible drawers emptied out and slobbered on however! I also think this one is a nice design, it seems pretty durable (no problems so far in a month of heavy use) and is easy to fold up to take with us (we've even taken him to parks with it to walk around outside). Anyway, in sum if you don't live in a place where there are lot's of open stairs then I couldn't recommend this toy more --- if you do live in such a potentially dangerous place, you might want to err on the side of safety and not get it (or be VERY careful how you use this if you do).

Exactly what you need - no more, no less, November 14, 2005

This walker is wonderful! Because so many folks are terrified of allowing children to be children these days, it has gotten almost impossible to find a real walker. Stationary walkers are enormously boring for my daughter - she wants to GO! This is a basic, brown-bag walker. Not too complicated by unneeded features, and does what it is supposed to do perfectly. If you are afraid that your child will fall down the stairs in it, use common sense - put the child downstairs to begin with.

Baby loved it, August 11, 2005

My daughter loved the walker. She used it from the time she was about 5 months old until she was able to push it from behind. She was able to move it well on the carpet too. She was never injured, little damage, if any, was done to our walls or furnishings. Was a wise buy.
