5.0 out of 5 stars A great book!, March 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Walker's Guide to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia (Paperback)
I bought this book at the Harpers Ferry Park bookstore. It is a great book that tells you anything you need to know about the Harpers Ferry area. Everything from memorable floods, to the Civil War, to the buildings, and people that shaped the town. It includes great photos and maps. It was first written in 1983. The 20th Anniversary edition is the one I own. It's a shame Amazon no longer carries it. If you ever visit the park, you must get this book!!

3.0 out of 5 stars A black and white guide to Harpers Ferry, May 31, 2009

Rating a publication depends what one is seeking of it. I was about to give three stars to A Walker's Guide To Harpers Ferry, because I was looking for a general guide of Harpers Ferry, but this one was really a Walkers's Guide. From its 96 pages, pages 17 to 93 where dedicated to walking tours.

For a walker this guide might be a valuable purchase. I suppose that it might work as a podcast too ( like Washington Travelcast).

After all I gave 4 stars, because this book had 15 very carefully drawn maps, where the 1983 situation could be compared with the 1859 situation.

A Walker's Guide to Harpers Ferry remindid me about german Polyglott Reiseführes.
