Comprehensive & Technical,

This review is from: Walker's Marine Mammals of the World (Paperback)
Comprehensive but technical book, probably too technical for most casual readers, but good for serious students of this subject. Lots of B&W photos & some illustrations, but nothing in color (except the cover). Many photos are of dead, beached animals. Animals are routinely called by their Latin names, making it difficult to follow at times, but index lists names of animals by both Latin & common English names. Print is small. Some photos are hard to decipher due to being small, B&W, & lacking contrast. Extensive bibliography. As of this writing, the book is 8 years old, & much research has been completed since then, including color underwater photographic studies.
