The BEST of the Celtic Woman solo albums,
By
This review is from: Walking in the Air (Audio CD)
If you are looking for a beautiful addition to your CD library, then this is the CD for you. After buying and loving my PBS Celtic Woman CD I was thrilled to see all of the solo albums at my local bookstore. This is the only one I bought and I know I made the correct choice. Chloe's clear-as-a-bell tone is the kind of voice you want to play again and again. The song choices are also what makes this CD a success. For me, sometimes the Celtic songs (on other CDs) start to run together a little too much, which is why I appreciate that this CD is mostly in English and the song choices and song order was thoughtfully done. You will not regret this purchase. Enjoy.

enjoy this celtic crystal-clear voiced soprano,

Chloe's solo CD is arguably the closest to the sound and production style of the mega-hit "Celtic Woman"(CW) CD from last year. Her crystalline soprano stands out on songs also featured previously in CW including "Walking on the Air", "Nella Fantasia", "Someday", "One Worlds" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"(which was featured in the PBS special and DVD but not on the CW CD.
She adds a fresh spin to the oft used songs in pop-opera circles, "The Prayer"[Watson,Groban, Dion, Bocelli], "Vincent" and "To Where You Are"[Groban]. She also takes on some pure classical compositions including Franck's "Panis Angelicus" and Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and a interesting vocal to Vivaldi's "Rain" from the "The Four Season's". She also adds the beautiful song "Winter Light" from the movie "The Secret Garden"[also recorded by Linda Ronstadt and later by Sarah Brightman}. Chloe's enchanting vocal quality will make this CD a must-have. ALthough she does not break new ground, this CD will serve as a great companion piece to "Celtic Woman" and is my personal favorite of the 5 artists featured in Celtic Women.

Chloe Agnew is a very classy young lady, with an incredible gift. Her voice is angelic and uplifting. I hope she continues to share her amazing talent as she matures.
