4.0 out of 5 stars Amusing walking automata book
An interesting book for those looking for ramp walkers. You get seven walkers in total: Noah's Ark, a pirate ship, three sizes of duck, a kangaroo, and a blue footed booby. There is also a blank net of a walking mechanism that you can copy and use to design your own. The parts are not die cut or pre-scored.

2.0 out of 5 stars Two pages of the whole book contain everything
The book is about 32 pages long but, actually, its only the information on the first and back inside covers that contain the whole trick to make every single walking automata included in the book and any other you could imagine (under the same mechanism logic).

Each of the models that we have made is fantastic! They actually are self moving. They have each delighted each of my 5 children, right up to the 13 year old.

Compared to Ives "Amazing Paper Pets: 6 animated animals to make", the quality in "Walking automata" falls behind, and pages are not even ready to press out the pieces.

Good idea but highly expensive. Printed edition not justified, a digital downloadable version would be enough.
