5.0 out of 5 stars Small town reminiscing at its very best, January 31, 2009
This review is from: Walking Beans Wasn't Something You Did With Your Dog: Stories Of Growing Up In And Around Small Towns In The Midwest (Paperback)
"Walking Beans" is a fun read and took me back to my days growing up in rural Iowa.

"Small Town Ghosts" brought back memories of going into town on Saturday night, attending a movie and having a soda at the drug store. And, whatever happened to orange push ups?

"How Our Dog Got His New Name" had me laughing out loud. "Watching Bonanza on Color Television" reminded me of the days before we had our own TV set and I would go to the neighbors to watch baseball on Saturday afternoons.

Every story brought back memories. This book is a very enjoyable read

Such a great book for midwestern baby boomers. I loved it and and know many others who have enjoyed it also. It brings back so many memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely little heartwarmer, December 28, 2008
This review is from: Walking Beans Wasn't Something You Did With Your Dog: Stories Of Growing Up In And Around Small Towns In The Midwest (Paperback)
If you like Reminisce magazine, you'll love this. Some stories are longer than others, all set around the theme of growing up in the midwest. They reminded me of stories my mother and uncle have told and include pictures. Most are humorous in nature.
