This game exceeded my expectations. I agree that it would be nice if your choices had more of an impact on the story, but you have tons of choices with the game as is. I loved this game, the character development is nearly as impressive as it is in the show, and the artistic graphics are a lot of fun. Everything about this game met or exceeded my expectations.

I wouldn't mind it if they came out with more playable storylines...

I have the game on my iPhone and iPad, love playing it. Tried to download it on my Mountain Lioned iMac and MBP, it's a no-go. If you still have Snow Leopard as we near 2013, then you will enjoy this game. The choice you make in Episode One is crucial to the outcome of the game, but otherwise it's a change your dialogue more than a change your fate type game, but I enjoyed playing it on my iOS 6 devices. I give it four stars because it was addicting enough to make me play a few different ways to see if the outcomes changed, but the outcomes are scripted...so the game has a specific direction that you will follow regardless of choices you make.

[Good]

The story is great.

The art style is great.

As far as point and click adventures go, the gameplay is great. There's even action.

This is one of the few games tied to either a movie or TV license that actually doesn't suck.

[Bad]

Lack of Real Choice: One of the big marketing items is that "Your Choices Affect the Game". Aside from a single major choice of deciding which character to save in the first episode, there aren't any player choices that actually affects the game beyond variations in dialog, even in the third episode. Your actions have no effect on the world. This is really disappointing. I would pay twice as much to get real choices that affect the game's world, that branches into a really different game, as opposed to yet another TV episode where you get a lot of fake choices that do nothing; either that or TellTale should stop marketing a feature that doesn't exist. My guess is that your choices will only have an effect on the ending, specifically it determines what kind of person a character grows up into. UPDATE: Choice has no effect on the ending. It has a bigger effect in episode 5, but it's still not as big of an effect as episode 1. The effects your in-game choices have are only "cosmetic". Again I would pay more for a game where choice actually affects the game world; don't advertise player choice and game consequences from them if the game will still be on rails and everything is already pre-destined. If Telltale doesn't have enough budget to actually make player choices matter, they should either make a new IP that they own so that they have more budget for choices affecting the world, or they should just focus on the gameplay instead.

I bought this game from Amazon for Mac Steam after reading all the numerous awards it has earned for last year and thought I would give it a shot, plus being a fan of the TV show, it was an easy call. I have completed episode 1 and just started episode 2 when I realize that the choices that I made from episode 1 didn't get carried over. After reading through a couple of sites, it looks like this is a major problem with the game. The developer, Telltale Games, supposedly is working on a fix for episode 4 but I can't find anything relating to a fix for episode 2. This is unfortunate because the game hinges on your decision and it's disappointing to see that because of save file bugs you can't see the consequences of your action. As a result, I will have to rate this game 1* out of 5*.

I would not recommend this game to anyone until a permanent patch has been released.

EDIT: So after uninstalling/reinstalling the game on Steam, I went back and replayed through the entire episode 1... and now the game crashes repeatedly at the beginning of episode 2. So I no longer have access to episode 2 and the subsequent episodes... this is completely unsatisfactory. I will no longer be purchasing games from Telltale Games since there seems to be no fixes in sight for the save bugs. It's surprising that since Episode 1 and 2 have been released for so long now that this bug remains a problem. And the customer support has been nonexistent... aside from a lot of acknowledgement of problems with the save system, there doesn't seem to be any movement to fix it.

I highly recommend anyone to stay away from this game. While it's possible you could get a working download, I think the sheer amount of cases (on all systems) so far should be a warning sign to anyone considering buying the game.

This a fun puzzle game with some great moral choices.

If you are on a Mac, you will need to save a copy of your actual game file - as it will lock up for you the first time.
After that, I had no problems. (There's some info on the web on how to do this, basically you find the actual save file, and then make a copy of it, then delete it, then restart the game). I think I did the whole save game file directory.

It is a very good game, with an amazing story. Especially if you have not seen play throughs on Youtube. It is not an intense action pact-ed zombie game, rather a story game. However, there is still enough action and etc. to keep you going. For the price, it is a must have.
