Amazon.com Review
Inactivity is one of the most serious problems in America today. One prominent researcher declared that the benefits of just spending an extra hour a day on your feet are enormous. For most people, walking is the answer: It's the physical activity best suited to the most people. Bob Carlson covers a wide range here-- including some basic health, fitness, and nutrition information--but the bulk of the book is about race walking. Which is still a selling point: Race walking is a booming sport, especially among older exercisers who've damaged their knees running, and offers all the same fitness benefits as other aerobic activities with less injury potential.
