a very good and easy to follow book on qigong,
By A Customer
This review is from: Walking Kung: Breathing for Health (Paperback)
The texts I have run across on qigong, usually have the author claiming that certain information is not given, because it is "secret." This leaves the buyer of the book feeling cheated. Not this book. It offers a full set of excercises on walking qigong, which are easy to do. I was amazed at the simplicity of the book. The author takes the reader step by step, through the excercises and gives excellent practical advice, on all phases of practice. The book is concerned with preventing and curing disease, through the circulation of cosmic energy. This is an excellent text because it is complete, logical and easily understood. I heartily recommend it.

May be a bit naive on my part, but I was looking for Qigong exercises to focus on while walking, and I did not know there was a set of standing exercises called "Walking Kung".The book does a decent job explaining postures, breathing and exercises, but seems to have a lot of filler. Only 97 pages are explanation and most of them are pictures. Again, this is not about walking! These postures are done while still or taking three steps at the most (and resetting). |
