Some really cool songs and great lyrics - story telling.

The rhythms are addictive, and each instrument adds it's own unique layer to every song.

Just saw these guys live here in Seattle and was blown away. Great live band and this record is very solid all the way through. Jeff has a unique gravely voice that is dark at times and he lays down some great lyrics to back it. Duff delivers some killer bass lines and Barrett has that signature drum style that I love! Already Dead and Two Tickets are my current favorite tracks but as I listen others are starting to move their way to the top. Solid 5 stars for sure!

We have followed Duff for a few years and have enjoyed seeing every band he's been associated with. We attended the show in Portland Oregon just to see Duff perform again. I'd say it was about 30 seconds into the first song when my wife and I looked at each other with a look that said it all. And then it just got better and better. The energy in that short show was amazing. The lead singer has "it", and backed up by the insane (for lack of a better term) energy of the drummer, demanded our attention. And when it was over we immediately purchased the CD and checked when they will be coming back to do a full gig. The lyrics, funky blues, and exceptional playing make this an album to put in your collection.

Original & fresh first outing featuring established musicians as Mike McCready & Duff McKagan. Dark & evocative, it tells stories of seduction, lust, and regret. If you're a fan of Grunge, buy it!

This is a gem of an album. Jeff Angell teamed up with a real all-star lineup here. With additional guitar contributions by Mike McCready himself. Great!

If you're tired of having your ears mauled by teeny-bopper screeching, treat them to a dose of Walking Papers. Their grungy, bluesy rock sound is heaven in the neverending sea of banshees hitting the airwaves today. This is one album where I truly can't pick a song I dislike and it's been a while since that's happened.

Get off my lawn and get this in your hands!

I had heard a few songs that I really liked and decided to get the whole cd. At the time I didn't know the history of the band members and their previous band experiences. The whole album is pretty solid.

Gee Whiz, I can only sum up this new album in a word as "Brilliant"! I've followed the great Barrett Martin from Mad Season to Skin Yard to Screaming Trees to Tuatara to Big High, the Wayward Shamans and all of his solo works, and he just continues to evolve and produce strange beautiful music. I can't classify this as Classic Rock, Blues Rock, Grunge, New Age or Prog Rock. It's more like Art Rock, but certainly not in the same vein as King Crimson, Yes, Kansas, Genesis or Pink Floyd. It's like a brand new genre all to itself. I have to believe that these guys had a great time making this music together, and they have to realize that they've done themselves proud. The whole album continues to evolve with each listen, and I hear more nuances to each song that leaves me totally jamming under my ear buds and shaking my head in wonder. The rhythms are addictive, and each instrument adds it's own unique layer to every song. The voice is perfect for these songs and the lyrics are provocative, and at times even humorous. And, of course, the drumming/percussion is way off the charts! Every song is unique and they all flow together from beginning to end. I can only hope that these guys are at the start of a long journey making beautiful music together. Thank you, Walking Papers, for the joy of listening you are giving me, and I hope more serious Rock & Roll lovers get turned onto this Masterpiece of Modern World Music. I think I'll call it "Class Rock".

I've listened to this album many times since getting it. I got it for the more popular songs but was pleasantly surprised by other songs on the album. It's great to see there are still such serious musicians out there, producing first rate music like this. The lyrics will move you and the music will get to your soul. And yes, at times you'll just be plain rockin!
