5.0 out of 5 stars AND ITS TIME TO FEEL GOOD.... LETS DANCE ! ! !
If you want a feel good CD than this is it. Dolly did it again... 8 great remixes and 2 orginal mixes. I already have "Peace Train" and love it but "Walking on Sunshine" & "Two doors Down" are even better. I put this CD in and "its time to feel good" as the song says. This CD is an A+++++ all the way to the club...

3.0 out of 5 stars did she or didn't she have anything to do with the producing
I agree about this being a disappointment, walking on sunshine is a publicity stunt. Now don't get me wrong, there is no bigger fan than I when it comes to dolly parton, I adore everything the woman does, however, this is no peace train, the mistake with the junior edited mix really bites, this is the original track from the treasures album with no alterations. Two...

5.0 out of 5 stars Why not Dolly?, June 24, 2004

Some artists can pull off moving from one style to another & sound as fresh as ever. Think Cher for a good example of this chameleon range, but "Dolly Does Dance"? You bet your groove thang she can. The mixes overall are supurb--a few weak spots in "Two Doors Down" but one or two flaws does not kill a whole album. Dolly shows that she can bring down the whole handbag house with the best Divas. Give her Kudos--i'm sure she had a say in it and if it brought a newer audience to her music past/present I say brava! Just a few examples of others Country Girls who have "crossed to the beat":

1)Tammy Wynette/KLF "Justified & Ancient"(and even appearred in the video) Best lyric sung by her in the track "They call me up in Tennessee, They say Tammy Stand By The Jams!" (Bring the beat back!)

2)Rheba MacEntire had Love To Infinity remix "You Keep Me Hangin' On" for a single release as did Faith Hill for "The Way You Love Me".

3)Le Anne Rimes is issuing dance mix singles constantly.

4) A group called "Fizz" used Crystal Gayle for some pure striking ambient music on "Only When I Dream".

5)Not to forget Shania Twain's dance mixes for "Don't Be Stupid" or "That Don't Impress Me Much".

These releases are a breath of fresh air, a jolt in the ear (is THAT who I think it is singing?) and a pure delight. Dolly is talented & timeless (Check out her duet on the Culture Club Cd Single "Your Kisses Are Charity" Blue Cover----)

This CD proves she's got the talent & can give a bit of 'boogie fever' in the process. After all, Dolly IMHO technically did the first country/pop blend song w/"9-5" years before Shania had "From This Moment On." I am a HUGE Shania Twain fan BTW
:-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Dolly Please More Remixes!, January 28, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Walking on Sunshine (Audio CD)
When I first got this cd I was very suprised I mean Dolly Parton. Is know for her country roots and a little pop but what ever she does it is perfect.I only got this cd because of The Boy Wunder remix of Two Doors Down I mean this remix makes you want to get your ass up and dance.Than you got the Peace Train remix which is remixed by Junior Vasquez and that to is a good remix but it is very long 13:41.There are some more remixes on this cd.So if you are thinking about buying this cd take my word and buy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, January 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Walking on Sunshine (Audio CD)
I loved Dolly's original version and the Holy Roller mix of "Peace Train", both of which are on this cd. But the rest of this release is a sore disappointment. "Walking on Sunshine" and "Two Doors Down" seem particularly pointless given their terrible remixes, which manage to be both cheesy and harsh. "Two Doors Down", especially, is not only virtually unrecognisable, it's unlistenable. This cd is obviously an attempt to milk any dance floor credibility that Dolly established with "Peace Train", but it will surely slide right by anyone musically or dancefloor savvy.

I have been a fan of Dolly Parton for many years and I never heard these type of remixes of her songs before. They are all well done. This is what Dolly is all about great, fun music that you can dance too. There needs to be more of her songs done in Techno-remixes. A+++ Thank you Dolly

Come On Guys! Miss Dolly Rocks on this disc! A special blend of disco, heart, soul & (if you stairmaster with it)...sweat!! Dolly's pure, sweet tones rise above the disco beat to create a real magic.

Two Doors Down is a fierce track and should be the one used to promote this new single, i do like walking on sunshine, but it is no peace train, and the speaking of that, the euro bounce mix of that i found a bit better than walking on sunshine, i like it, but i am also not pleased after two years of anticipation. . . . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars "Dance With Dolly!!!", June 26, 2011

For naysayers who think the only kind of music legend Dolly Parton can sing is country they may look no further than this 1999 release of her "Walking on Sunshine" CD. This is Dolly's only known "dance CD" in her catalogue and it features multiple remixes of "Walking on Sunshine", "Peace Train", and her classic-penned "Two Doors Down".

This record came into being after Dolly released a dance version of her 1996 song "Peace Train" from her "Treasues" record and that song propelled her near the top of the Bollboard Dance Charts. In actuality many long-time Dolly fans know that Dolly was recording dance music as far back as the late seventies when she released the blockbuster "Baby I'm Burnin'" (also written by Dolly) from the "Heartbreaker" album that many dance clubs still play today.

Dolly has been working on a new dance CD for several years now, but still hasn't decided when to release it. Let's hope it's soon because nobody can sing the way our Miss Dolly does be it country, gospel, bluegrass, rock, or dance!
