This really is a good movie, and the soundtrack is also strong. In response to Payjean's review, the song that's played while keener is following corrigan is 'go west' by liz phair. it's too bad it's not included on the soundtrack, but it's on liz's 'whip smart' disc, which is, itself, worth searching out. The billy bragg songs on this soundtrack alone are worth taking the time to pick this up. Still, i'd probably suggest getting a vhs or a dvd of the movie if they're available, instead of just this disc.

I love the film . . . does anybody know the title of the song being played when Catherine Keener's character is holding Anne Heche's character afloat in the lake? It's a beautiful, jazzy rock song and I am trying desperately to find it! Thanks!

I loved the movie "Walking and Talking," and the soundtrack definitely captures the mood of the movie with its slightly-melancholy tunes. Some of the songs are not too memorable, but the four Billy Bragg (a UK pop singer) tracks make the album worth buying. Bragg's score tracks also make this album a good listen. One of the songs in the film, a rock song which was played while Catherine Keener is following Kevin Corrigan on the street, is not included; I guess it was not because it did not fit the mood of the rest of the songs. Otherwise, if you are looking for a blues-pop sort of album, this CD might just fit your tastes. I recommend that you see the movie first, however, and if you end up liking the movie, you will probably like the soundtrack as well.

This soundtrack has Billy Bragg, The sea and cake and some really subtle pop songs for easy but with-depth listenings. If you don't remember how the 90's was like outside of Nirvana, you'll fall in love with this little treasure.
