From Library Journal
Ventana breaks new ground with this excellent guide to the Web by putting the Internet into your hands with a CD-ROM. With a link to the Internet, you can use some very slick software on the disc to connect to Ventana's own home page and connect to home pages described in the book. If you have your own favorite Web browser, you can simply type hhtp.//www.vmedia.com/wwww.html to begin your own walk through Turlington's view of the Web. In print, five sections take you to foreign home pages. There are art galleries, libraries, laboratories, universities, and celebrities to visit, and pointers to music, sports, films, and books can also be found, as well as ways to buy a home, find a new job, and shop. Ventana should be congratulated on finding a way to bring the Web to its customers and integrating print and electronic information so well. This book indeed may be a preview of the future of publishing for the rest of this decade and well into the next century, a way of linking media to best serve both author and reader.
