I have not tried to take video in a city at night, with or without street lights, but the unit did fine inside my home at night with only ambient lighting. It has also done a pretty good job in very early morning light while I cycle. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

It works bad even in average light, but most importantly, you cannot adjust framerate or use bigger lens, so you're stuck with the default setting that are no good for average or low light. Plus, if you care about audio quality, then just forget about it.

Its pretty well useless in low light situations or even darker than normal situations. You can see clearly into a room or some area but when you review it later, its dark
