I had gone through several versions of portable stools in my work as a professional sports photographer. Stools are allowed or even required for some events like pro soccer or in the photo well at some MLB parks (where there never seem to be enough chairs and paying fans are sometimes right behind you so you can't stand up). I tried a free three-legged stool given by my bank; it lasted two games before one of the legs broke. I bought one at local sporting good store - it made it through 4 games before the webbing started to rip off two of the legs. Then a buddy showed me his WalkStool and I knew this would be a product I could use. It's built like a Swedish tank (I think the company is Swedish). Not only is it very, very strong, but It can be quickly folded up and snapped to your belt or other equipment, and it's so light you hardly notice it's there.

Don't waste your time trying to save a few bucks. I weigh > 200 pounds and really didn't want to be sitting on something only to have it give way underneath me when I needed it most.

I am an avid birder. Unfortunately, I am also sixty-seven and have back trouble. Many of the best sites for birds have nowhere except the ground to sit and rest which is hard on your back and your clothes. This stool comes with me when I go to birding and it has been wonderful. It is surprisingly light to carry and easy to set up. It is also quite comfortable when you sit on it. It has enabled me to go further than I could before and has saved a lot of wear and tear on me. One other nice thing as well. When you first enter an area, the birds tend to freeze in place until they become accustomed to your presence. With this stool, you can sit quietly AND comfortably until the birds become used to you and start moving again.

I got this item to use with doing Macro Photography. I can no longer kneel after an injury and this works!
First it is totally and completely solidly built. It has HUGE feet that makes it so much more secure. I had a lower priced item similar to this but always felt like it was going to tip over. This does not give you that feeling. It is extremely light weight and comes in a little tote bag that has a long sling like attachment Making it easy to sling over your shoulder. It has be used low to the ground or fully extended to a normal sitting height.
It is a comfortable seat and works in lots of different situation. I bought this for photography but have used it for viewing fireworks at the park, enjoying a concert at the beach, photography at a local sports game and for macro photography of flowers and butterflies.
I highly recommend this for anyone that needs a portable secure, safe seat. I will be using this for years and years.

I purchased this stool to replace a smaller camp stool which had a torn seat. I'm about 220 pounds after lunch and a flimsy stool is no bargain. My old camp stool was much shorter and required more strength than my 64 year old knees can regularly provide. The 22in/55cm height gets me down low enough for most of my macro or low level shooting. Getting up from the 22 inch height is a heck of a lot easier than trying to pop up from shorter stools. The large seat more closely matches my large seat making it a good deal more comfortable than smaller versions. This stool also resists sinking in softer ground with its large feet. The button releases take a bit of getting used to but provide a solid safe lock when clicked into place. The canvas seat cloth seems well made and very sturdy. I doubt that I will need to replace this one unless it is stolen, by my wife. I have tried the shortened setup where you don't extend the legs to get a lower height but the single point of contact with the ground means I am spending my time trying not to fall over and figuring out how I am going to manage to stand up again. Overall a quality product, good design and the 22 in height seems to be just right for someone who is normally 6' 2".

Over the years I've put on a few extra pounds and struggled with arthritis in my knees. I am passionate about photography but find it difficult to hike long distances or stand for very long without sitting down for a couple minutes. This lightweight stool is exactly what I was looking for. It costs a little more than other stools but it comes with a case, is easy to carry, fast to set up, and I feel secure sitting on it. Great item--I should have bought it months ago!

I work on control systems for modern drilling rigs, all over the world. This means that I spend a lot of time with my laptop plugged into a PLC, inside power control rooms. I have gone through about a dozen of the cheap $5 steel tripod stools over the past two years. Every trip I'd bring a new one, and it would be nearly worn out by the time the job was finished, so I always gave those away.

I found this on Amazon and decided that I wanted one. It is VERY sturdy and comfortable for me. I only wish I'd gotten the 18" version instead. I will order that one next time I go home. I see no problem with having two of these fantastic Walkstools.

The Swedes really did themselves proud with this item!

I bought this stool to take to a convention where I expected to be standing in lines for a while. I was right about the lines, but wrong about the stool. After sitting for half an hour while in a stationary line before the convention opened, the stool began to become uncomfortable. The tops of the legs began to push at my backside, and the edges of the seat started to restrict blood flow to my legs.
I don't know if maybe the height was wrong for me or what, but it's not a stool I intend to use if I'm not standing up periodically. For short term use though, the stool will work fine.

I was looking for something that I could take to GA concerts and festivals. This chair fits the bill, perfectly. It's extremely light (though the construction is quite solid), easy to carry, and operate. You can deploy it (to full length) in literally 5 seconds. Putting it back takes marginally more effort; you have to push the leg lock buttons firmly to slide the legs back in (so maybe 10 seconds). The best part is that it actually is pretty comfortable (you can spend quite a bit of time in it without fatigue). I'm so taking it with me when stuck waiting in line for concert tickets, also.

I heard about this stool from a friend and just had to order one. I sure am glad I did. It's so light you hardly even know you're carrying it. Very sturdy and comfortable too. I use it while photographing youth soccer. I'm looking forward to carrying it on hikes as well.

Just have to remind others that it's only got three legs and can tip more easily than a four-legged chair.

I have a bad back and after standing a while I need to sit,when I sit on my stool what a relief it sure feels good!
