Japanese Mini LP's The Way To Go, September 12, 2011
This review is from: Wall and Bridges - Extensive Package (Audio CD)
While the American re-issue of this, one of Lennon's more consistent post-Beatle releases, sounds superb due to Peter Cobbin's remix, it is this version Lennon fans should opt for.
While both versions contain the aforementioned remix, this one far outdoes the other in it's exact miniaturized duplication of the Lp's original packaging.
The CD itself also has the gorgeous Apple label as found on the original album. The Japanese are strictlers for details in their mini Lp's (their Imagine version even has the Lennon-faced Apple as found on the original album); American CD manufacturers can learn a lesson or two from these folks.
To drive the point further home, I can honestly say that fans should forego spending their hard earned dollars on the newer box set of the original mixes and hunt down all of John's albums in these superior Japanese-packaged configurations.

Superb re-issue, April 20, 2010
This review is from: Wall and Bridges - Extensive Package (Audio CD)
This remastered version of Walls and Bridges sounds superb. If you are going to buy a copy, make sure you buy this Japanese re-issue, packaged as an exact copy of the lp. Thus with fold- and cut-out cover, inner sleeve and booklet with drawings made by John as a child and lyrics. Every other version is inferior to this one, get this version now while stocks last!
