Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I rented this game from GameFly while on vacation after seeing the movie and I have enjoyed it. It's certainly geared toward kids and was pretty easy to get through, but it was fun. I wasn't expecting a puzzle game but that is mostly what you'll get. Call it a sort of puzzle-based platformer. The majority of the game requires you to collect energy modules to pass from area to area, and you'll also need to figure out how to gain access to the various zones. Some other portions of the game require you to race through a level while avoiding obstacles or playing a virtual game of "Simon Says" with computer screens to open doorways.

The graphics on the game are quite good for a PS2, this will certainly blend in with other PS2 titles and Wall-E and other characters are still quite expressive and look good. Level loading times are fairly quick but it does drive me nuts how often the game will save to your memory card and how frequently you'll get pop-ups or the game will jump to new "levels" early on. As you go through the game the pop-ups become less of a problem but the game will continue to load and save frequently. I imagine this is far less of a nuisance on the Playstation 3, PC, and Mac versions.

The audio gets the job done, most of the sound effects work well for the game and the music at times is quite fun. However there are one or two pieces of music you will become VERY familiar with throughout the game.

The controls in the game work fine but it would be nice to customize the layout. I did struggle with the analogue stick quite often trying to move Wall-E around, but in real life it would be difficult to move precisely on those tracks so that is one explanation. In the end I'd often have to circle around repeatedly to get where I needed to be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game for younger players July 28, 2008
Platform for Display:PlayStation2
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
My son got this game about a month ago. He was very excited about it and had been asking for it after he saw the movie.
He has already beaten the game.
He experienced very little frustration and enjoyed the different levels of the game.
I plan on letting my younger one play this game as a great beginning game for kids.
If you are an adult, unless you are a huge Wall-E fan, this game may not be for you.
If you are buying for a younger child, I highly recommend this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its WALL-E, how bad could it be? December 24, 2008
Platform for Display:PlayStation2
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
This game isnt particularly demanding, difficult or challenging. It IS however a lot of fun. Especially if you have kids to play it with. The worlds are visually stunning, it is full of sounds from the movie and for the most part a mellow and relaxing experience. There are several head to head modes as well that are good family fun. I would recommend it.

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
My kids loved the movie, and they wanted the game. Now I try to look for games the family, or at least 2 people can play together so you dont have one child hypnotized while the other is bored and wanting to play the game too. But like almost every video game out there, they mislead the consumer by saying things like " Up to 4 Players" or " 1-2 players" to make you think its a game for more than one person. In reality, there are a few small, very boring games for multi-players and they usually dont have much to do with the actual theme of the game. I wish they would just be honest on the label and let you know what your getting. I assume since they have been doing this for so long, its accepted practice now, but its very disappointing to know that when you buy a video game that says multi-player , your have a very small chance that its actually multi-player game. Walle takes the insult of multi player one step further by not even having any information on multi player in the small booklet that comes with it. The game is fun, but this is a single player game, no matter what the box says. But I am glad they are still writing games for the pS2, because it will be a while before I can buy a PS3 or WII in this economy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!! October 29, 2010
Platform for Display:PlayStation2
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
This game was moderately fun. The puzzles were slightly challenging. I definitely recomend this game for kids 10 and under. If you're older and you like it then, hey, don't let me rain on your parade. But for my taste, I rank this as one of the lower games that I own. For one thing, it just wasn't challenging enough. And what's with the price tag!? Forty dollars of my hard-earned money were wasted on this game.
The only other problem with this game that I can think of is that you only get to be wall-e (once in a blue moon you can be Eve). I know that sounds selfish and spoiled, but a one character game is kinda boring.I see no reason not to throw Eve in there a little more often.
So if you are a new or young gamer considering this game, go for it and have fun. If you are more experianced, then I suggest that you spend your FORTY BUCKS on something else. Trust me, it will be more satisfying in the end.

2.0 out of 5 stars Typical Movie Spinoff Game June 30, 2009
Platform for Display:PlayStation2
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I played this game for a total of about three hours before I put it down and never played again. The premise of gameplay was simple enough, but like most games of its kind, the game aspect wasn't quite as well thought-out as the movie from which it was derived.

I often found the difficulty fluctuating wildly between easy and very difficult, often without warning or reason, making it overall a rather unpleasant experience. In short, if you really like puzzles and lots of platform jumping, with a very bizarre character to do it with (Controlling Wall-E felt similar to directing a sentient ball), then you might like this game. Otherwise, I'd recommend spending your money on something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pixar movie
Great animation. For the first part of the movie, there is no talking, but the movie is great because they say so much without talking. It's a classic Pixar movie.

Very difficult for my 5 year old. Maybe it's for older kids & I didn't realize. It doesn't look too exciting either.
