4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, with one problematic area
It may have been just our, but on the one we purchased the left door on Eve's vegetation compartment wouldn't stay closed. Since it was the last one, I opted to try to fix it and managed to do so. A little bit more plastic reinforcing the door's arm would have prevented the issue. Even so, a small wedge of plastic and some super glue addressed the issue so that you'd...

2.0 out of 5 stars Less would have been more
Couldn't wait to get Eve and Wall-E toys after seeing the movie - boy, are we disappointed! This toy features 6 different eye expressions that change when her head is pressed. We got through one round of eye changes when it stopped working. Now she's stuck on the same expression no matter how much we press her head (and we were not rough at all!). Also, Eve comes with...

Also, Eve comes with a little stand - a plastic arm is supposed to pop into a hole in the back of Eve. It simply doesn't work, no matter how we try to get her to fasten in.

A different reviewer mentions that the door to her compartment didn't work for him. It did work for us. Still, it seems like there are a lot of different features, any of which may or may not work. If I could go back in time, I'd buy a simpler (and cheaper) Eve, with fewer cracked bells and broken whistles.

A little bit more plastic reinforcing the door's arm would have prevented the issue. Even so, a small wedge of plastic and some super glue addressed the issue so that you'd never know there was a problem. Again, it may be a fluke issue, but the fact that the item is packaged with the left door opened makes me think that it may be likely to affect others.

We received this toy today and are disappointed. Like a previous reviewer, the doors on Eve come open very easily and don't stay shut. Also, Eve's eyes get stuck in one position and it's very difficult to get them unstuck and to change again. My daughter LOVES EVE so we won't send this back, but we will be writing the toy company an email. Save your money and wait for other WALL E toys to come out!

As a fan of the movie WALL-E and of robots in general, I have to say I'm pleased with this figure of EVE! It's large (Six inches even, with the transparent stand attached), has decent articulation and is mostly screen accurate.

Her accessories (not including her gun arm, since that's more of an alternate version of her arm rather than something extra), a light bulb and blast-apart rock, aren't very well thought out though and seem rushed. The rock looks like a hunk of shiny chocolate that's been in the Sun too long rather than a geological feature. It probably would have been better to include one or two sets of alternate arms instead. Unlike other reviewers, I haven't experienced any technical malfunctions or durability issues; the doors and eyes work fine.

My only real complaint though is that the eyes are too dark a blue, they're more of a true blue rather than the glowing sky blue they should be. But all in all I think this is a well done action figure.

The replica is perfect the only problem to me was durability. I gave this to my wife not a kid and the feet were broken within the same week. The plastic was very poor quality and very weak.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful desk addition, December 3, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wall-E Search and Protect Eve (Toy)
I recently purchased the Search and Protect Eve toy from a Disney Store while visiting Michigan. I saved the unpackaging until I got home so nothing would go missing. After opening it I found that all the components are just fine. The shoe fits in Eve's belly (though you have to fumble a little to find out how), the lightbulb fits snuggly on her hand, and the rock is a cute addition but only if you get the Wall-E figure as well. I love the ability to change her expressions with a push of the head, right now she's holding her little lightbulb over my laptop and smiling gleefully at me. This is definitely a cute addition to a desk, but I don't see kiddos getting much play out of it without a wall-e. If you're going solo toy for a kid, get a higher-class model like the interactive Eve. If you want a wonderful addition to a desk that will make you cheer up immediately when you see it, buy Search and Protect Eve..then click her eyes to the incredibly happy and try not to smile. I love Eve. :)

Wonderful design, I just wish they would have made it more stable.
The eyes on mine broke after one click. I was very disappointed as this was the cutest aspect of the figure.

Nothing wrong with toy at all. Just price. Original retail cost: $14.95, I had to pay $89.95 because my Grandaughter wanted one. Don't think sellers should be allowed to
jack prices up like that

My son loves Wall-e and Eve. Eve came with a light bulb and plant. The light bulb is difficult to stay on her arm. When you put the plant inside and try to close it up, it doesn't seem to want to close correctly. Overall, not very well made, but my son loves it- so I can't complain too much:)

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must For WALL-E Enthusiasts, December 28, 2008

This review is from: Wall-E Search and Protect Eve (Toy)
If your child is crazy about WALL-E, this is a very fun item to have. It is durable, the parts (even the doors of Eve's tummy, pop on and off like old fashioned pop-beads. It is varied in what can be done with it, ie. press head to get 6 different eye expressions, pop open the tummy and take out the plant, attach the lightbulb to her hand, attach the lazer arm and pretend to blast the rock that pops off it's base when you press the button. Just a couple little drawbacks: the rock that "blasts" off is a little hard for a 3.5 year old to work, and it doesn't go far; and the button in the back of Eve that opens her tummy is awkward for a small child to work while holding EVE because she is small and it is difficult to hold her in a way that the child's hand is not in the way of the "doors" in her tummy. No batteries is a plus; overall a good value. My grandson really enjoys playing with it.
