Great coat rack,

Great looking - very modern. Space saving is excellent to put in a hallway if your garage entrance is in a narrow area like mine. Unobtrusive and holds different kinds of coats just fine. I have a heavy trench, a puffy jacket, a lightweight jacket and a leather motorcycle jacket hanging on mine at any given time.
Mounting is a cinch and anyone can do it. You should have a drill, but technically, you can do the entire job with some creativity using simply a screwdriver. Comes with all the hardware you need and a template to make sure you put the holes on the wall in the right place. Be sure to have a level to make sure your template is straight before drilling! This has been on my wall for a few months and holding up just fine. Everyone that sees it thinks it is great. Two people I know have purchased one. In fact, I'm writing this because I noticed there were no reviews as I was adding one to my cart to buy my second one!

Slick looking rack -- just a few concerns,

It's a good-looking and sleek rack, although a bit pricey for what you get. The hooks are a bit close together, and hanging up anything bulky, like winter parkas, on two consecutive hooks would be a tight fit.
However, as this rack comes with only two drywall screws for mounting, it's not really designed to hold 5 parkas in the first place. It does hold four lighter jackets of mine rather well though. I wouldn't trust it for hanging much more than that without ripping through the drywall. The rack is mounted by using a template to drill two drywall screws with plastic anchors into the wall. You must leave the screw heads about 1/4" out of the wall so the heads can slide into two keyhole slots cut into the back of the rack itself. For that reason, even if you did drill the screws into studs, the rack is really hanging onto the two screw heads only. I wouldn't load up the rack with a heavy load since I'd basically be testing to see if the drywall gave out before the screw heads tore through their slots. I do like the rack. It looks quite slick, and it's nice for mounting behind a door as it doesn't protrude too far from the wall and the unused hooks can fold up out of the way. I would give it another star if it had better support, such as screw holes drilled all the way through the rack with a metal bracket. I'd also give it another star if it were a bit cheaper, because there really isn't too much material there--you're just paying extra for the novelty of the design.

would have looked great if it had been assembled properly at the plant. instead the holes in the back were drilled improperly, namely upside down, resulting in the hook being unable to fasten securely to the wall unless placed upside down with the hooks pointing downwards. a major PIA!

Nice product. Very modern looking. I bought two of them for my foyer (one mount low for the kids and one mounted high for the adults).
Pros: Wood construction is very nicely done and feels very high quality. Hooks move from the stowed to the in use position very smoothly. Cons: Mounting holes in back are simple 'key hole' slots for the heads of screws which must be wall mounted. These key holes are not spaced at 16" centers, so wall anchors must be used for at least one of the mounts. Also, one of the two came shipped in the box with the mounting hardware missing.

Pros: Neat design, looks very nice, sturdy construction
Cons: relatively small, pricey, made in china finish I did put 2 of those next to each other and they really look good. The hooks are sturdy and it's a really neat design with the folding hooks. Note that you can see a different color of wood on the left hand side that is used to plug the hole they had to drill for the axles of the hooks. This is not a high quality finish but it's really decent. It's a little bit expensive if you compare the price/hook with other offerings but you have the style!

The coat rack is excellent and we all love it. It far exceeds my greatest expectations, holding heavy jackets and coats without any problem. It is also great for hanging purses and umbrellas. When not in use it is a really cute "decorator item" that fits my decor beautifully.

I ordered this to hang coats on when friends and family come over. It is very space efficient and attractive. Seems to be well made but testing it with some heavy winter coats will determine it's true worth. I am considering buying another because there is only 2-3 inches between hooks so another would simply add more hooks and better weight distribution.

I have a modern/contemporary theme going in my condo and this coat rack fits the bill. Very sleek and great build quality. When I was hanging it up on my wall, people asked "What is it?" I reply: "It's art, do you like it?" As they sit there and scratch their head, I pull out one of the hooks and they smile when they finally figure out what it really is!
FYI: Make sure you screw it into a stud in the wall. The rack itself has a bit of heft to it and if not installed properly, it will fall along with all the articles of clothing it is carrying. If a stud is not possible, make sure you go to Home Depot and buy a couple of wall anchors to drill into the drywall before screwing in the rack. This will give it a more substantial support.

This was the perfect addition to our tiny concrete bungalow that didn't have a coat closet close to the front door.
