5.0 out of 5 stars Boy do I feel stupid
I had given up on this micro torch because after a few uses, I could not get the igniter to work. You do have to twist and push, kind of tricky to do with just one thumb, but not impossible.
Yesterday I was searching Amazon in hopes of finding a "better" micro torch, came across this one that I own and echoed a negative review already posted.

This morning,...

I bought this because I wanted to apply heat to a stuck nut in a tight spot under the hood of my car. I was able to fill it up easily from a butane canister. However, it is very hard to light, in part because you have to twist a knob and press it at the same time. You can't light it with one hand. 5.0 out of 5 stars Boy do I feel stupid, August 7, 2011

Yesterday I was searching Amazon in hopes of finding a "better" micro torch, came across this one that I own and echoed a negative review already posted.

This morning, I dug out my torch, actually put on my reading glasses and found out that I had been turning the igniter the wrong way!!

Like my title says, boy did I feel stupid. Lit it over and over again turning it the correct direction just like the little arrow indicates, and it worked flawlessly. There was only a slight breeze at the time, so I cannot truthfully comment about it's wind resistance.

Sorry Wall Lenk, my anger at your product was unjustified. Changing my review to five stars.

However, it is very hard to light, in part because you have to twist a knob and press it at the same time. You can't light it with one hand. Even indoors it takes multiple tries to get a flame going; outdoors in the cold (40 degrees F) forget it - wouldn't light at all. When I lit it indoors, and then tried to carry it outdoors the least bit of wind would blow it out. I would not buy this tool again.
