5.0 out of 5 stars Words can't Express! Best Book I've read in a while! Can I give it 10 Stars?
"Fly on the Wall" is a masterpeice. It is a story that will get you hook, line and sinker. I am almost sad that it had to end!
It is the tale of something taboo, something that should not be condoned, however you will find yourself wanting to be that fly on the wall, witnessing this forbidden love affair.
Meet Paige a 32 year old English teacher at West Dade...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hottest Sex!
The plot: English teacher starts a sexual realationship with a 18 year old senior.

The reason to read the book: HOTTEST SEX SCENES!

Trista knocks Zane out of the running with the hot sex in this story. I had to put the book down at work because it was going to cause the smoke alarms to go off! I also loved the dialog. The book was off the chain...

Drama 101 is the lesson plan for this school year as Theo and Paige begin innocent flirting in detentions, grinding at the dances, and end up gettin plain freaky at her house after a pool party. From that moment on they are addicted to each other, as you will be to their forbidden but oh so satisfying love story. Eventually there dirty laundry is aired, but how will it all work out? Will Paige risk everything for the love of Theo, will Theo risk his future NBA career for the love of a grown woman? Join that fly on the wall and find out.
This book was so good, I don't even want to start my next one cause I'm scared it won't be this juicy!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roots, April 7, 2006
By
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
Buzz along as Musca Domestica, a housefly, narrates the fine points of a forbidden affair. Readers, depending on your standpoint, age may or may not be just a number! If you're old enough to vote, drive and make life altering decisions, can you enter into a consensual relationship? Please be advised that the hot and sticky sex scenes will raise the heat considerably which in turn may rock your boat. Grab hold to a life jacket... as you deliberate over whether it's desperation or love?

Theodore Lakewood is a senior at West Dade high school. At 18, he's ecstatic to have the keys to the Maxima. The star basketball player is playing it smooth avoiding traps of young girls looking for an escape route to fame and fortune. He's dreading the fact that he's got to deal with Ms. Fatrick, but will his consistent detentions correct their issues?

Paige Patrick is 32, an English teacher for the last six years and recently divorced. She spent her summer working some issues out. No longer will she be ridiculed as the chubby mean teacher, Ms. Fatrick. Though she is free of the weights in her life, she's lonely. When times get too hard, she allows her ex to pillage her garden. Can she finally find a `man' to handle her?

When hidden `relations' are unexpectedly scrutinized, can these revelations trigger damage or will love last?

Fly On The Wall deals with adultery, ethics, sex, and loss. The truth- We all know that it's usually those whispers in the dark that keep the hotness flowing. I would've preferred to read in depth about the consequences surrounding West Dade high school affairs as well as the pending court case.

Trista as usual is hittin' nothing but net.

5.0 out of 5 stars DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY THE WORDS ON THE COVER, March 28, 2006
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
Some may frown upon this book because of the contents....but beleive me this is not about some teacher that preys on her young students. What you will find in this book is a women whom was deeply hurt by her ex, a women looking for love, a women that may have been more inexperince than her students.

The story will give you a view of a young black men today. Single mothers ask the sons to become that man of the house when their father's are missing. But what happens when your son chooses to be a man in more than just your home. Become a Fly on the Wall and see what happens when Theo becomes the man in Paige's life.

Please don't sleep on Trista Russell she present not only a good story, but you can also see the reasons behind their action.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fly's Eye View, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
National headlines such as "Teacher Charged with Having Sex with Teen," or "Teacher Convicted of Statutory Rape" have blasted educators who have had inappropriate relationships with their students. The headlines spark an immediate reaction, usually one of disgust. The idea of such a relationship is deemed disgraceful and despicable. However, after reading Fly on the Wall, the sophomore novel from Trista Russell, readers may think twice about passing such judgment.

Most teacher/student relationships that have garnered media attention have involved white women. Imagine both the teacher and her student being African American and you have the controversial plot of Fly on the Wall.

Paige Patrick is an attractive English teacher at West Dade High School and the ex-wife of the school's basketball coach. Once known by her students as Ms. Fatrick, the new svelte and sexy teacher has shed some pounds and now sports a coke bottle figure. While she boasts a new body and new confidence, old habits are hard to break as she occasionally falls back into the familiar arms and bed of her philandering ex.

When Theo Lakewood walks into Paige's classroom on the first day of school, she knows exactly who he is. Who wouldn't? He's a senior, very good looking and a basketball phenom. Often compared to Michael Jordan, he's already been scouted by the nation's leading colleges and NBA teams.

How does a well-respected teacher end up having an affair with her eighteen-year-old student? Well, it starts with Theo having to repeatedly serve detention after class for being late. Awkward glances, lustful stares, indirect flirting and sexual tension all ultimately lead to the forbidden---a sexual relationship. The trick, however, is to keep everyone they know in the dark so of course, lots of sneaking around is involved.

Forget a bird's eye view. Fly on the Wall offers a fly's eye view of a teacher and student love affair. Russell does a superb job of capturing the essence of the characters' raw emotions so well that a reader may be embarrassed to admit a brief moment of sympathy for the teacher at some point. In her signature style, Russell paints the picture with sex scenes that top the Richter scale, laugh out loud humor and everyday dialogue that makes it all real.

This reviewer could have done without the narrating fly, as he seemed to provide unnecessary comic relief. While the story was peppered with several unexpected twists, at times they were forced and therefore unbelievable. Nonetheless, this novel is proof that Trista Russell is bursting with creativity and readers tired of the same old storylines will appreciate her style and her latest offering.

Since you've probably wondered what it would be like to be a fly on the wall, what are you waiting for? Go get this book. It's guaranteed to entertain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stella Don't have Nothing on this New Groove!, August 31, 2006
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
In this story Trista Russell keeps her readers turning the pages to this book so fast I think I almost tore a few! I read this book in 2 days because it was one of thee best written and entertaining books that I've read in a long time. I had people at work stopping like "is that good" I was like honey words can't describe how excellent! this book is. I was reading it while waiting for the elevator and did't stop until I reached my office door.

Anyway the story is about a older woman who's a teacher at a local high school who finds herself drawn to her much younger 18 year old student who is also an aspiring NBA player but get this Young Man's Coach is the teachers Ex-Husband! Drama Drama Drama!

If you think you know the story you don't. I don't want to say anything more, but you won't believe how it all ends and Chile! TR had parts in this that brought new Meaning to the Term "Teachers' Pet"! Hello!

5.0 out of 5 stars Single girls, buy batteries now!, April 7, 2006
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
I purchased this book with the thought "Ha! Nobody can make me think twice about this (teacher/student relationship) topic." Whoa! Fly on the Wall made me think more than twice, three times, four times. I loved it!

I thought that there was no way that an author, any author, could pull off such a story with romance, tact, style, and true emotions. Trista did it! Fly on the Wall is bound for the bestsellers list. Kudos to you Trista! Thank you for thinking outside the box with an unpredictable, sexy, and taboo storyline. You granted me the opportunity to be a fly on the wall within such a forbidden relationship. Because, truth be told, we all wonder just how a teacher could fall for a high school student... I fell, big-time, for Theo (any woman would).

Oh, and the sex scenes, my husband was the happiest man in Texas for the two nights it took me to complete the book. Single girls, buy batteries now!

The book was off the chain funny which made it that much better. This is the type of book you read on a plane ride or at the beach. Before you know it you will be turning over to the last page. I too as a pp said hoped for more detail surrounding the aftermath of the affair. I will def. be checking on other titles from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have You Ever Read A Book You Just Didn't Want To End?......., September 2, 2007
By
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
.....If not, then this is the book. This book was an INCREDIBLE and AWESOMELY written love story. "Fly on the wall" is one of the best books I've read. This book test on so many emotions, it will have you hooked from the beginning until the end. This book will have you thinking about the characters well after it ends. It will leave you yearning for more. This book NEEDS to be adapted into a movie, so I could watch it over and over. For all you out there that enjoys reading Love Stories, this is a MUST READ. The ending was the GREATEST. I usually dont write reviews, but HOW COULD I NOT FOR THIS BOOK?

IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK, DON'T READ ANY FURTHER. I DONT WANT TO SPOIL ANYTHING FOR YOU.

For those that have. Who could agree with me, when I say my heart was pounding NON-STOP when I thought Theo was dead? I literally did not want to continue reading if that was the case. The book ended beautifully, but who wanted to read about the graduation, the draft, the wedding and the baby? Trista, deserves her props for this book, because I just can't get it out of my system. I truly can't get ENOUGH.

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY good book!, June 25, 2007
This review is from: Fly On The Wall (Paperback)
I actually found this book while I was searching for another book! I'm glad I clicked on the link because this book was REALLY good. The best part (also the funniest) was the fly!! It didn't have a big part but stole the show when it did. "Ripped from the headlines" is the cliche' on this book but don't let that deter you.

The author actually has a plot with this story and the sex scenes are extremely hot!! Each of the main characters has some serious flaws and that is why you'll love em. Put this one on your "to read" list.
