5.0 out of 5 stars For Fans of the Movie
I am 28 years old and my girlfriend is 25, but if you were to watch us huddle together and smile our way through this charming little game, you'd swear that we were a pair of elementary school kids. I bought it off Amazon for $[...] + $[...] Ship = $[...]

I'm having a good time with it. I have not played a platformer in a while, and I really liked the Wall-E universe so the game is fun. The collecting is a little tedious, always looking for the objects, but nothing too bad. Like any platformer, expect reused challenges in each level. The EVE levels mix...

I am 28 years old and my girlfriend is 25, but if you were to watch us huddle together and smile our way through this charming little game, you'd swear that we were a pair of elementary school kids. In my opinion, Wall-E is a special kind of movie that almost anyone can sit down and enjoy if they allow themselves to.
That being said, when we picked up a copy of Wall-E the video game we weren't expecting a mind-blowing, revolutionary gaming experience. We just wanted to have some laid-back fun zipping around the decks of the Axiom causing mischief, and that's exactly what we got. I'm not sure why some people review this game as if they were expecting the next Bioshock or Fallout. The price tag and style of Wall-E liken it more to an X-Box Live Arcade game, and when viewed in that light, Wall-E is a really good game.
What's really important is that Wall-E the video game has preserved the heart and personality of Wall-E the movie. Much like the way I felt about Ghostbusters the video game, you can nitpick the gameplay all you want, it may not be perfect but doesn't the feeling of being in a familiar and beloved world overshadow those shortcomings? Doesn't anyone remember playing movie-based games on the original Nintendo? Where the relationship between the game and the movie rarely went farther than the name on the cartridge? I think we're a bit spoiled these days.

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter and she loves it. A few of the parts of the game are kind of difficult for a child, but other than that it's a great way to keep the kids occupied for a while.

Good game, brings the movie home in an interactive way. Wife loves to play it, aswell as our 3 year old nephew. He hadn't heard of Wall-E yet when he played it. When he got back home from visiting us he wanted a Wall-E birthday party!! LOL. He loved it! Lots of fun and great colors and environment.

The collecting is a little tedious, always looking for the objects, but nothing too bad. Like any platformer, expect reused challenges in each level. The EVE levels mix it up, but can feel a little too linear. Overall its a good game.

Out of a scale of 10:

Graphics and Effects - 6.5
Sound and Music - 7
Gameplay - 7
Story - 8 (only if you've seen the movie)
Replayability - 5

Overall 6.7 / 10

3.0 out of 5 stars A tough game for younger kids, also has some save issues, but fun still, August 12, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wall-E (Video Game)
I got this game for my 2 year old, because he loved the movie so much. He loves the game too, but needs help with some of the more challenging areas. Also the game has some save problems, not just with game progress but with unlocking, maps, levels and bonus content. You can finish the game, unlock everything, but if the little one turns on the XBox, which defaults to New Game and hits A twice, while for example you are in the kitchen refilling his plate of Cheezits or something, you come back and suddenly everything is locked, all maps, all levels, all bonus content, and all your toddler can do is play the first level from start. This applies to toddlers, but also to anyone who in a moment of careless or impatience hits A twice. Yeah, definitely the developers should've tightened up the same system a little before release.

It's a fun game otherwise, good platforming, Wall-E is very cute, the game retells the story from the movie, both through gameplay and cutscenes. Some parts are a bit advanced, perhaps even frustrating, in that you have some specific goals to accomplish in timeframes, yet your game controls are not that precise. Sort of an unfair advantage to the computer.

The game also has offline multiplayer, up to four players. Some of the games are pretty good. But all are played in isolation. No party structure or anything. But still, lots of fun. If you have two kids they can play the multplayer plenty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wall E, March 26, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wall-E (Video Game)
Well, -generally I have problems concentrating on playing video games. Cause they're like to slow or something. But whatever the reasoning, Wall E, has captivated it. I'm currently on the second tumbler (which is difficult), and the robots are trying to capture Wall E while yelling Halt! I do not like the fact that they didn't use actual movie scenes. They re-created them. I'm talking about the interrupter parts or movie tie ins...not sure what they're referred to. Anyway, other than that issue it is a great game despite what you tube people claim. And yes, some parts are difficult for the young child. It'll be a breeze for someone with months to years of gaming experience. Give your kids more than an hour to play this game. They'll have to repeat a few of the levels several times before getting through. And you do not have to collect all the items in order to complete the levels just the wallops. And on the magnetic strips chips: you'll need to remember that the directions are backwards. Down is up on the controller. Not easy to navigate those. Otherwise, this is an enjoyable game, and Wall E makes you feel like your playing with an RC controller (if your using wireless) or at least it does that with me.

Well oriented for kids, yet is challenging enough.
