Very Pleased,

Was a bit worried about this purchase b/c I read some reviews about another Wallace Chest for 16 that appeared to be identical to this one. But I took the plunge anyway b/c I really needed storage for 16. I am very pleased with this purchase. I have 90 pieces of silverware b/c I bought 2 45 piece sets(has 16 knives, forks, tablespoons, teaspoons, and salad forks and 2 5 piece hostess sets) and they fit perfectly. There is no drawer for the hostess set but I managed to lay them in the empty spaces above and below the silverware slots.
No silverware slips out when you close the chest either. All in all, this was exactly what I wanted to store my 16 set flatware. I ordered a second chest for my Christmas flatware. Great price too!

Toxic Fumes Inside,

This silverware chest is a nice sized box however when I opened it up the smell of toxic paint fumes was overwleming. I was not about to put my good silver inside the box until the smell was gone. I kept the chest open for several days and then closed it again only to have the smell return once opened. I put the open box out in the sunshine for a day, closed it and again the heavy chemical smell. I emailed the company directly and never got a response from them. I continued to leave the box open for several weeks until the smell finally seemed to dissipate. I put my silver in it and am hoping the smell will not have returned the next time I open it, which will not be soon.
The craftmanship of the box is acceptable but I certainly would not recommend it do to the lack of customer service and toxic fumes.

A chest that does what it's made for - Storage.,

First impression is the most important one, they say, and they're mostly right.
The Chest is neatly packaged into an impressively designed matt carton box, and for me, I received the box wrapped with bubble nylon, which is good. The mahogany looking wood is nice, and the inside makes a high-class product feeling. The chest seems to be able to hold many flatware pieces - I haven't tried yet to fill it up to the end. Pros: Nice looking, great capacity. Cons: the chest can hardly hold itself in an opened up position.

Depth can be deceiving, this chest holds 4 pieces per slot, 64 pieces plus 16 knives total. You will likely need a second chest for service ware.

Arrived in excellent condition. The chest is not as pretty as the picture, but does a good job in storing my silver tarnish-free.
