Book Description

Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge June 26, 2007
OUT OF THE DARKNESS?

Mori High’s annual school festival is fast approaching, and Sunako’s class is gearing up to perform a cosplay café. Sunako’s roomies, the four hottest guys in Japan, are shocked when Sunako leaves the dark recesses of her room and heads out shopping with a gaggle of high school girls. However, what Sunako thought was a simple cosplay supply shopping trip soon turns into a full-blown girly event complete with karaoke, ritzy boutiques, and even a photo booth. Can the dark Sunako survive an entire day of perky pink-infested fun? Could this be her first step on the path to ladyhood?

4.0 out of 5 stars Amusing, but really just a bridge volume, August 18, 2007
This review is from: The Wallflower 12: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
I thought this was funny, not the best in the series, but calling it utter crap is a little harsh. It really does seem to be a bridge volume that gives more side info. I enjoyed it, even though I too would have liked to see a little more info on what happened in volume 11.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst volume I've read of her yet, July 29, 2007
By

This review is from: The Wallflower 12: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
I absolutely hated this book, especially after the wonderful volume 11. First of all, volume 11 ended with Ranmaru acting crazy and Sunako and Kyohei (finally) having a date. It ended then in such a way that left me waiting eagerly for volume 12, because I wanted to know how things would go further between Kyohei and Sunako-san and I wanted to know what was wrong with Ranmaru and everything. So I open volume 12, and... nothing. Nothing at all. Just repetition of what everyone who has read the previous books already knows, and this volume isn't even really funny anywhere. It just again summer, and again Sunako (who still is 15 and freshman, btw, as are the guys) can't stand the heat, and there is some festival, and people try to turn sunako-san into a lady (or at least a normal girl) again, to then find out she the most happy being herself, among things of darkness, there is some more trouble for Noi and Takanaga, Kyohei has trouble keeping jobs, Sunako-san fight off some croakroaches... it's just boring and bland, even worse then the Volume 2. The only reallly good thing about it is the preview of volume 13, which seems to be of Hayakawa's usual strength. Really, unless you wan tot be really dissapointed and hate the author, I advise just skipping this volume and wait for volume 13.
