Book Description

Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge June 23, 2009
PRINCESS SUNAKO?

Sunako is a great cook, but her croissant recipe needs help. Luckily, the landlady happens to know a royal family famous for its master bakers. Sunako and the gang are whisked off to the small kingdom of Grimmel, but the landlady has ulterior motives: The young prince of Grimmel is looking for a bride, and his tastes are almost as morbid as Sunako’s. It looks like Sunako might accept the prince’s proposal–unless Kyohei is willing to speak now or forever hold his peace.

Includes special extras after the story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutie Sunako!!!, January 5, 2010
This review is from: The Wallflower 20: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
Sunako-chan is SO cute! She seems to be growing (well it is the 20th volume, already...), becoming more mature...but I still feel like punching both her and Kyohei! Won't they EVER figure things out??? Jeez... but I still love this manga.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great manga, do NOT read this series for the author blurbs!, September 4, 2010
This review is from: The Wallflower 20: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
The Wallflower: 5 stars easily. My review is not about the story or the above-average art.

I have become accustomed to reading the author blurbs, both the kind that are sprinkled throughout the text as a sidebar and the kind that appear at the end of the book. Mostly these consist of (a) thanks to people who helped during the production of this volume, (b) things that inspired the manga-ka during production of this volume, and (c) other little personal info about the author. Well, this is just the same...except that in every volume, the (b) and (c) things are about Japanese bands (which means nothing to me as an American) and gushing praise for the hotness of her Kyohei model, a Japanese singer named Kiyoharu. Constantly. It does get a bit wearying. (I looked him up...and I don't get it...but then, if I did a manga I'd probably use John Taylor for my hero and rave about him, at least a little, so I know what the author of The Wallflower feels like.) So, I would say, completely skip over the author text, and read the funny and entertaining story.
