Book Description

Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge December 28, 2004
THE SPIRIT OF A LADY

Four fabulous guys must completely transform a high school girl if they want to keep living rent-free in her aunt’s luxurious mansion. But Sunako Nakahara, the most fashion-hopeless girl in Japan, would rather live like a hermit and watch her favorite horror movies than undergo a makeover.

When the guys stumble upon the mansion’s secret subbasement, they discover the ghost of a prim and proper lady who (thankfully) begins to possess Sunako’s soul. It seems their problem is solved. Too bad that Sunako’s now-suitable personality includes a desire to lock the boys up in the mansion’s dungeon!

5.0 out of 5 stars another manga delight, September 28, 2005
This review is from: The Wallflower 2: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
While reading Volume 1 of this series, I immediately was overcome by a desire to... go out and buy the remaining volumes. But I didn't... I just bought volume 2 and, right after I finished with vol. 1, I started on vol. 2. All I can say is this: not as good as the first one, but definitely beyond the quality level of some other mangas. The story continues with Sunako still a recluse (and still having those explosive nosebleeds) and Kyohei and pals still the kings of the school. The beginning events are kind of funny; from the "King and Queen of the School" schtick to the haunted house occupied by Sunako, it's good for a few laughs. After that, however, the plot thickens. After the guys discover a basement below the mansion's basement, they begin to explore it.. and find the ghost of a girl that was murdered in the house in 1900. Only one problem: she's taken over the body of Sunako. After Sunako/ghost-person and Kyohei kiss, the ghost leaves her body and they all go back to the mansion.. above ground. After a few other halfway decent scenes, the novel ends with Kyohei and Sunako standing outside on the balcony talking. (Does Kyohei have feelings for Sunako or vice versa? I think so.) Overall: a definite must-read for all manga fans and a 900/100.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty art and nice story line., July 8, 2009

I don't read much manga, but this got my attention. Great manga for girls who like "Hana Yori Dango", "Kimi Tachi", or "Peach Girl".

Check it out!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Got me addicted!, September 16, 2008
This review is from: The Wallflower 2: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge) (Paperback)
I actually got the first volume one from my college library because I didn't have anything else to do and it was the one that seemed less lame than the rest of the ones they offered at the library... And now I am SOOOO glad that I did! I was horribly addicted to it and the library only had the first volume so I quickly came here and got this second volume!
I thought it was very, very funny and very addicting. I couldn't put it down and now I ordered four more (and my friends got me another one).
Some people say the second one isn't as good as the first, but I think it is very good! Aside from a bit of a weird storyline with the ghost lady (which I thought was uhhh a little weird to put in between Ranmaru's lady issue) I thought it was phenomenal. I am anxiously waiting for the other volumes that I ordered off of Amazon!!!
