This valet is a good value for the money. It did not take my husband very long to assemble. As he did not curse or throw anything during the process I assume it was also easy to assemble. The walnut color is on the darker side. It is exactly as it appears in the picture. It is not a top of the line piece of furniture, however, the price suggests it is not. It is sturdy and a nice looking item. A safe item to buy in my opinion.

This is a fine valet stand...it's a 2 person job to assemble...possible w/one person..but far easier for two...allow 45 minutes if you are reasonably deft and good at following instructions..if you are not you should skip this stand and toss your clothes on the floor. It is constructed of a material that looks like an expensive New World hardwood....but for $65 what can one expect? The hardware packet includes a lilliputian Phillips head Allen wrench...I suggest one use a proper Phillips head screw driver and retain the included wrench for another purpose--like teeth cleaning. The stand is full sized and clothing drapes on it without touching the floor... One can hang a tie or belt on two metal prongs that extend from the frame inward and are best reached by lying on ones back and reaching upwards. Some might consider this a design flaw..others a challenge..but its likely those who seek the challenge already are throwing their clothes on the floor and need not bother with the stand. In summary I like the stand because it holds my clothes and does not talk back when I ask it what it is made of..I like it because it does not require batteries...(it seems everything requires batteries or a transformer/charger). Also it was inexpensive..need I write more?

The product when received had a few imperfections/nicks in the wood but because it was a christmas gift and it arrived after christmas I did not pursue in returning it for another.
