Walt the Wizard,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Walt Disney: A Biography (Library Binding)
Some of you may think that all biographies are boring. I used to be one of them until I read this book. One of the most interesting parts was how Walt Disney became a cartoonist.Walt had grown up on a farm and related to all of the animals as if they were people. Later as a cartoonist he created animals that spoke. You may think that Walt is a sweet old man, but actually he was a heavy smoker who was very demanding, yet he adored children. For example, he designed Disney World for the children, but was very demanding by wanting every inch of it perfect. This book illustrates Walts successes, and failures. Sometimes he might gain 30,000 or lose it. This book is a must read from ages 10-12. And maybe it will change your idea about biographies too.

The Man Behind The Mouse,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Walt Disney: A Biography (Hardcover)
Walt Disney (1901-1966) wanted to draw since childhood. His brother, Roy, was his money organizer and partner. He has created many films that took at least four years and hundreds of people to make. The most amazing thing about Walt was that he chased his dreams. He changed movies from soundless, black and white animation to colorful, live-action films with sound. All this information came from the book Walt Disney, by Barbara Ford. It has pictures before and after each chapter and great captions. The diologe made it more fun to read and it is in chronological order. The Index is helpful to find one event in the book by page number. Not only kids would enjoy this book, but thier parents would, too! Basically Disney lovers of all ages should read this book.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Walt Disney: A Biography (Library Binding)
Ford, Barbara.Walt Disney. New York: Walker and Company, (c)1989You're probably familiar with Disney, but do you know how the magic all began? Well, it all started when 5~year~old Walter Elias Disney moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri. Walt immediatly fell in love with the beautiful surroundings and the animals. He loved to play with the animals and draw them. Throught his life he loved to draw. From an early age he wanted to be a cartoonist. All during his career there was a lot of loss and gain. This book shows many interesting facts about Walt, his life and his creations. Mickey was Walt's second cartoon, but who was Oswald? Walt was kind, a heavy smoker, and had huge temper tantrums. What else happened that you never would have guessed? Buy this book; it's anything but boring!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
