What a great cd! I have wasted so much money on cd's that say they have the traditional versions of the songs only to end up with real rubbish with electric guitars, distortion and rap!! Its enough to drive parent. . . and child . . .insane! This collection is absolutely wonderful. The songs are the ones you grew up with, sung in a way that encourages sing-alongs. I'm getting a second copy for the car!

I first heard this album back when vinyl was in and cassettes were not yet popular. My mother had bought it for me and I played it over and over on my Fisher-Price record player. I was in love with it back then and still love it now. I pull it out every once in a while when I go to my parents house and feel like reminising. I recommended it to every one I know who has children and I plan on getting a copy myself when I have kids of my own (I might not even wait until then to get it). Some people might be disappointed because it doesn't actually have any of the Disney characters singing, but don't let that deter you from buying it. It's a great collection.

My sons adore this CD. They ask to listen to it all the time! There are enough songs here and of different styles to keep them entertained. Well recorded and performed. We can highly recommend it...

I have owned all four volumes of the Disney Children's Favorite Songs since I was three years old, and although this one is enjoyable, I think it is probably the poorest of the four. The songs just aren't as much fun to listen to as on the others, and I recall that one of them, "Old Blue," in particular, used to frighten me when I first got the tape because the singer sings that his dog died. Well, I'm over that fear now *muffles a sob* but I still don't think this tape is the best one to start off with. I'd advise buying all four volumes together, and if you only want to buy one, get Vol. 4. It's undoubtedly the best.

I love these cd's! (Volumes 1, 2 and 3) I had these songs on LP when I was a child, and treasured them. It is the same man singing, which I am very glad of. His voice is so easy to listen to, unlike some of the other kid's cd's that are out there. My daughter is 2 and she dances around the kitchen and sings along in the car whenever we have this music on. She loves them just as much as I did when I was young.

My son loves listening to this cd and the others in this collection - and I even enjoy singing along to them in the car. We just put them all into the cd changer and off we go!

The most important thing to know is that our toddler loves this tape. Sometimes it's the only thing preventing a total meltdown in the car.

The other thing is that because the songs are sung in a barritone key, I can sing along.

This series is the best collection of children's songs I've found, as well as the least annoying (and that counts for a lot!). We have just replaced our tape of volume 2 after wearing out the first copy. My daughter is 4 and still enjoys the songs as much as she did 3 years ago, except now she can sing along with all of them!

I only owned volume 2 growing up, and I do remember crying when "Old Blue" died at the end of the song, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I would still take my kid to see "Old Yeller." Drunken sailor lyric went right over my head, still haven't thought about it until the other reviewer mentnioned it. Parents, this collection is SO GREAT that I STILL talk about it when the subject comes up. We just purchased the CD version for our one year old! I can't wait until it arrives!!! This is A MUST HAVE, and I agree with other reviewers who stated that it is so much better than the annoying other children's records that there are out there. It's very soft on the ears and doesn't have a shrill children's choir, etc. Groce's voice, in my opinion, is soothing... reminds me of John Denver. It has a folk style to it that is pleasant. Enjoy!

I have all four of his albums on CD and I listen to them all the time. His voice is very friendly and his songs are very good. He always knows what to sing and how I feel. He knows what to do when I am not feeling well or I am in pain.
