I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone planning to visit Disney World. I received my book just days ago, but have been enjoying it along with other members of my family. But I knew I would love it even before I got it, because, I had read a previous version of the authors Disney World guide about seven years ago. We followed her tips for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM and had a marvelous time. Following her tips made our trip a real time to remember-it saved us time, saved us stress and probably saved us money. All I can say is if you tackle Disney World with your kids without reading this book and using its well thought out tips, you will be sorry! Excellent, excellent book.

Fantastic--a must have if you have young children,

I love this book! I had an earlier version and I couldn't wait for the new edition which includes the Animal Kingdom. The book helps me decide which rides are appropriate for children of each age group. We saved a lot of time on our last trip to WDW by not spending time in lines for rides which our children would not appreciate or rides which might scare our children. A "must have".

I wasn't too psyched up about taking the kids to Disney World - a family duty, right? Fortunately, we got our hands on a copy of this book a week before we went. Kim Wright Wiley gives good practical advice on how to cut down your time waiting in line, which rides to do first, and how to avoid the crowds. Even though we were there on spring break, we saw a lot of stuff. My only regret was we didn't get the book in time to take her advice on hotels and what time of year to go! Next time - yeah, I'm a convert - we'll buy the book before we plan the trip.

if you try to go to Disney without this book. One click it now! For all Disney pilgrims and novices this is the Bible. Ms. Wiley provides witty and insightful information that you must have when traveling with children to WDW. I carried this book with me through the park and felt like I had my own personal guide cherrfully moving me along. These 480 pages are packed with practical information that is easy to access on the run or while waiting in line. The descriptions of the Disney hotels are right on target. Ms. Wiley described Dixie Landings as the place where Huck Finn and Scarlett O'Hara would honeymoon. I do believe I even saw Rhett roaming the grounds! To the author-my children and I thank you for your wonderful book. We'll buy every edition!

Our family is major Disney freaks.....I buy this book every year and rely on Kim Wright Wiley's advice for everything from picking our hotel to planning how we'll break up the trip. Last year we did the new Universal Park (Islands of Adventure) for the first time and found Wiley's chapter to again be right on the money in terms of rides, shows, and restaurants.

If you do one thing before leaving for Disney World - read this book. The advice is excellent from the hotel reviews to the ride recommendations. I took my 3 1/2 year old and followed the author's advice on all rides with the exception of one ... 8 months later he is still mentions how scared he was during it! If you think you can get by with the information that Disney supplies, you can't, they provide no description or age recommendations. Without the book we would definitely have made many more inappropriate decisions. I shared the book with a friend who felt it wasn't really necessary ... she called me from the park to thank me.

This book is full of good advice for anyone planning a trip to WDW. Some are more obvious than others, but always good to hear before you be sorry for forgetting that. The quality of the information is outstanding. You'll want to make a resume of it, but it'll end up almost as big as the book. Better take it with you. I've seen other books of this kind and can say this is the one and only you may need if you want to please your kids and satisfy yourself at WDW. I'd buy it again.

I have wanted to go to Walt Disney World for years and finally have the chance. I read the book cover to cover in one day. Before I read the book I did not know much about the particulars of a Disney trip, but now I am much more confident. The book gives lots of tips about what to do before you go, and what to do once you are there. It focuses on many aspects of the trip and gives good clear advice. My book is covered in highlighter and post-it notes as a result of this direct information. I wish I would have purchased this book 7 or 8 months in advance of our trip instead of 6 weeks, as it gives advice on hotel reservations and the necessity of making on-site reservations very early, to be most economical. The only drawback I found was that the maps are way too vague. I wish clear, detailed maps and entertainment schedules, or examples, were included in the book. And for the kids, a few photos would be nice. After reading the book, I regret not allowing more time for this ultimate family vacation. There is much more to Walt Disney World than I had imagined. Two thumbs up.

I bought 5 different books for my family's trip to Orlando and found this one the most helpful. I only wish we'd bought it earlier...we picked it up a week before leaving and read it on the way down. But I wish we had it in time to take advantage of the author's information on the Disney hotels which was very through and gave you real direction about which resort is best for different kinds of people. The author's information about the theme parks was very helpful and saved us both time and money at several points. Her restaurant tips were also good. She steered us to what turned out to be our favorite place to eat fron the whole trip - The Prime Time Restaurant, which incidentially, was totally panned by the Unoffical Guide. But we enjoyed it so much we ended up eating there twice. |
